Anaheim, CA — After a very successful day one, it seemed impossible for the Real Street Festival to outdo themselves on day 2. However, they did just that thanks to a star-studded lineup that drew in an enormous crowd.

Day two started off on the right foot thanks to artists like Yella Beezy, Gashi and Saweetie. All three performed with such charisma and were very interactive with the crowd. Saweetie brought the crowd to another level when she jumped down from the stage and continued her performance in the photo pit section giving high-fives to fans.

Danileigh followed at 2:50 pm and kept the energy up by displaying her stellar dance moves on stage. Fun fact about Danileigh, she directed a music video for Prince – yes THE Prince – when she was only 18 years old!

The temperature was a bit warmer on day 2 meaning the Honda Center was packed with people trying to cool off throughout the day. Big Boy’s Neighborhood was recording live interviews early in the afternoon and artists such as Saweetie and Blueface made appearances. Big Boy himself also found the time to take pictures with hundreds of fans in between interviews.

Back outside on the south stage, Blueface drew a big crowd and had everyone bussing down to his hits “Bleed It” and “Thotiana.” He then showed off his ability to buss down by crip-walking on stage.

As the sun started to go down, people’s appetites went up on. Festival patrons had over 40 food truck and vendors to choose from on day 2. Salt N’ Pepper’s pastrami fries were the choice of the evening and they certainly did not disappoint.

More and more fans entered the festival grounds around 6 pm in anticipation of the headlining acts at night. During that time, I had the chance to sit down with up and coming artist Danileigh and talk about her journey into the music industry. Make sure to be on the look-out for that exclusive video.

Big Sean really got the party started off in the evening by drawing a huge crowd and had the audience grooving. During his set, however, an audience member was injured which delayed his performance about 12 minutes. The audience member was carted off by paramedics and once the coast was clear, the show continued.

Miguel’s set followed over on the south stage and he took the audience to a whole different vibe. His vocal range as he sang “Come Through and Chill” and “Adorn” sparked romantic feelings all across the audience. Listeners couldn’t help but let Miguel’s soothing voice give them an auditory experience of a lifetime.

Both Miguel and Big Sean used a live band for their sets which only enhanced their musical experience compared to a DJ.

Both performances would have been tough acts to follow for your average artist but Cardi B is far from average. Her set at 8:35 pm set drew one of the biggest crowds on day 2 and she put on one hell of a show.

Cardi and her background dancers were twerking all over the stage to hits like “Finesse,” “Money” and “Bodak Yellow” while also getting personal by performing songs like “Be Careful.” The visual presentation along with her on-stage charisma put Cardi in the lead for best performance of the weekend.

But that lead didn’t last very long. After a solid performance by Migos on the south stage, it was time for A$AP Rocky to close out the night and the weekend’s festivities.

As mentioned in our preview article for the festival, A$AP Rocky had found himself in some legal trouble overseas and was arrested in Sweden. After spending over a month in jail, the rapper was released on August 3rd, just one week before the festival.

A$AP Rocky shared his gratitude with the audience throughout the set and proclaimed he had a new outlook on life after what he experienced. All of which inspired him to put on the performance of a lifetime at the Real Street Festival.

Rocky kicked things off with “ASAP Forever” and then proceeded to bring Tyler the Creator out on stage to perform “Who Dat Boy.” Tyler also had the chance to perform his hit song “Earfquake” off the album Igor that dropped earlier this year.

Rocky wasn’t finished there. He proceeded to bring out A$AP Ferg to perform “Work” and “Plain Jane” which had the crowd jumping. Afterwards, he brought out Los Angeles native YG to perform “Handgun” from his album Stay Dangerous. YG also performed his new hit song “Go Loko” and his 2018 banger “Big Bank,” which had to have been played over 30 times this weekend with the last time being the most epic.

A$AP Rocky had mosh pits forming all over the crowd and closed things out with a few of his own tracks like “Praise Da Lord,” “Goldie” and finished with “Lord Pretty Flack Jodye 2” which featured a firework show. It’s always important to end a music festival strong and Rocky did just that on day 2 of the festival.

There was a good amount of surprise guests on Sunday including the three artists A$AP Rocky brought out during his set. Big Sean brought out MadeinTYO and the two performed their track “Skateboard P” from 2016. Blueface brought out NLE Choppa during his set and the two performed their remix of “Shotta Flow.” Migos also brought out Cardi B for their set and they performed “Motorsport” from the 2017 album Culture II.

The weekend was full of surprises and certainly surpassed the hype it received, especially on day two. From the music to the art and to the interactive attractions, Real Street Festival put together a great display of Hip Hop culture and could be doing so for years to come.
