Los Angeles, CA — Let’s talk about it! Tonight I had the attended the exclusive screening for the movie “AIR” at the AMC Century City Theater. I must admit, going in I didn’t quite know what to expect but I figured it would be an amazing film just based off the actors that was cast, and they did not disappoint.

“AIR” is a film directed by Ben Afflleck to share the story on how one of the greatest athletes of all time, Michael Jordan, was able to change the game with his partnership with Nike. The actors in this film were incredible: Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, Matt Damon, Jason Batemon, Marlon Waynes, and Ben Affleck himself who played the CEO of Nike.

As the movie unfolded, I was shocked to discover that Nike was not Jordan’s first choice, or an option at all. His eyes were set on Adidas.

I love how this filmed showed that all it takes is one person to believe in you. To see how Sunny — the scout for Nike — believed in Jordan. He was willing to put it all on the line to prove that Jordan was the guy that Nike needed to turn Nike’s failing basketball division around.

Jordan, with the help of his mother played by the wonderful Davis, was able to foster a deal with Nike that is still to this day bringing in millions for himself and have also created a lifelong partnership between the two. This film was a great example of not allowing others to tell you what you deserve, but instead, telling them what you are worth and believing in it.

I haven’t watched many movies this year, but I will say that “AIR” is one that I would gladly watch again. Overall, I think it was inspiring, and it was great to see a black man change the game in a way that even made the CEO of the company nervous; and have also opened other opportunities for many other athletes. Jordan is no doubt one of the greatest of his time and the only thing that I felt was missing from the film was his presence, his character.

I would have loved to see how he reacted in those life changing moments. However, I would recommend watching this film.

Head to the theaters, “AIR” can now be watched on the big screen globally, April 5.
