According to reports, a mass shooting with “multiple fatalities” took place at the riverfront mall in Jacksonville during a Madden NFL 19 qualifying tournament.

Jacksonville authorities announced on Twitter that there were “multiple fatalities at the scene, many transported.” In addition, one suspect was dead, and there is no knowledge if there was a second suspect.

The qualifying tournament was being held at the GLHF Game Bar in Jacksonville on Sunday and was also being live-streamed on Twitch and a video of the event surfaced, with gunshots heard in the background.

Drini Gjoka, one of the professional gamers in the tournament, tweeted that he was shot in the thumb.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office took to Twitter and Facebook to warn people to stay away from the Jacksonville Landing.

“We are finding many people hiding in locked areas at The Landing. We ask you to stay calm, stay where you are hiding. SWAT is doing a methodical search inside The Landing. We will get to you. Please don’t come running out,” the sheriff’s office said via Twitter.

More to come as the story develops.
