Los Angeles, CA — I have never been a tequila kind of girl, but I can say that last night, I have become one after tasting some of the most astonishing tequila at the Sol Agave LA LIVE Mandala Dinner.
Although Wednesday night was my first time attending such an event, I was impressed. I have never been one to consume tequila without having the most dreadful reaction but this time was quite the opposite. I also learned a new method for allowing myself to fully taste the tequila so that I can appreciate it instead of dreading the burning sensation that I would feel after drinking it.
Let me put you on game in case you didn’t know: First, you need to take a deep breath in, then drink, hold it in your mouth for a few seconds, swallow, and then breathe out. BAM!! No burning. And you get to taste all the wonderful flavors. Yea, it works.
During the dinner, I had the opportunity to meet with the three owners of Sol Agave, Kirk, Craig, and Berto – who just made me feel so connected and made the experience feel that much better. They were so knowledgeable about their product, provided detailed information about how the tequila was being produced and informed all diners of some of the ingredients used that helped distinguish the tequila from most other brands. The owners were so inviting and were able to answer any questions with the knowledge that made me feel as if I were getting the best.
Having such a hands-on experience with the owners proved to me that they value and love what they do.
For dinner I was served some of the most staggering meals to compliment the most distinct tequila I have ever acquired. Along with the Blanco tequila, we were served seared salmon, the Respadowas paired with the calamari, the Anejo was paired with lambchops, and the Extra Anejo was beautifully paired with the rice pudding.
Every meal that was served complimented the taste of each tequila in the most fantastic way. Sol Agave has some of the most amazing chefs – they did a wonderful job at catering to my taste buds, and I am sure, the rest of the others that were there because the plates were clean. The food was served with love and was prepared down to perfection.
Another one of my favorite moments yesterday was having the chance to meet with several individuals from ESPN. Each of them greeted me with so much respect and was so open to conversing with me while we talked about our favorite tequila of the night.
Hands down, Sol Agave has become my new favorite spot.
