On Oct. 29 after Michigan State and Michigan faced off in a football game, there was a scuffle in the tunnel between the two teams. After an investigation, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office announced today seven of Michigan State’s players have been charged with crimes from that assault on two Michigan players.

“At the University of Michigan we appreciate the thoughtful, deliberate approach from the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office to this unfortunate incident,” Michigan president Santa J. Ono said in a release. “We also want to express our concern for all the players involved, especially those who were injured. The University of Michigan will continue to cooperate fully with any additional reviews of this matter.”

Video evidence shows Michigan defensive backs Ja’Den McBurrows and Gemon Green being hit by Michigan State players. Those being charged are Khary Crump (felonious assault), Jacoby Windmon(one count of assault and battery), whereas Itayvion Brown, Angelo Grose, Justin White, Brandon Wright, and Zion Young are all being charged with aggravated assault.

Players at Michigan State were originally suspended for their actions in the tunnel against their opponent.
