- Top-60 player Indya Nivar is down to Stanford, UNC, and N.C. State, source tells The Ball Out.
- We will have information on where we are hearing Moon Ursin will transfer to later on today or early tomorrow.
8/31/21:
2:17 a.m.
- Visits are being lined up for recruits, so things are REALLY picking up steam! Let’s start with the nation’s No. 2 player in the country, Janiah Barker: The 6-foot-3 dominant forward that is just ferocious — and explosive — on the court. While South Carolina, Georgia, Duke, Louisville, and Ole Miss round her top five. Multiple sources continue to tell us that Georgia and Ole Miss lead for Barker; however, we think Duke is a dark horse for Barker. We wouldn’t count out South Carolina either. Based on everything we are hearing, we believe Louisville doesn’t have much of a shot to land Barker.
- Kiki Rice: We continue to hear Stanford and Duke as her top choices.
- Ruby Whitehorn: We know she’s considering Baylor, Ohio State, Auburn, Texas A&M, and others. Watch out for Auburn and Ohio State for Whitehorn.
- One of the schools that everyone is watching in recruiting is Tennessee. Kellie Harper made the necessary decision to fire Lacey Goldwire and bring on EKU head coach Samantha Williams, who is now Tennessee’s recruiting coordinator. They are only recruiting Amiya Jenkins, Talayshia Cooper, and Kyla Oldacre. The Lady Vols want all three badly as they feel they could be the foundation of getting Tennessee back to its elite status. Jenkins is someone that the coaches see superstar potential in, sources tell The Ball Out.

12:19 p.m. E.T.
- Update on Kyla Oldacre! Her recruitment has been very quiet, but we have this update. She will most likely take an official visit to Tennesee and will be talking with them tomorrow. Now we want to reiterate that her visit is not set in stone, but at this moment in time, we hear a visit is likely, sources tell The Ball Out.
8/27/21:
10:18 p.m. E.T.
- One of the top prospects in the 2023 class is Ashlynn Shade. There’s A LOT of buzz about her, and a source we talked to today says she’s “the real deal!” Earlier this week, she released her top-8, which includes the likes of Indiana, UConn, Louisville, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Tennessee. Schools that she really likes now are Indiana, UConn, Louisville, and Tennessee, sources tell The Ball Out. Here’s a nice feature on Ashlynn:
8/26/21:
4:33 p.m. E.T.
- Tennessee is ALL IN in on 6-foot-6 center Kyla Oldacre from Mason high school. They are recruiting her harder than any other school remaining in her top-14, sources tell The Ball Out. However, a source tells The Ball Out that they believe Duke is the leader for Oldacre.
- Georgia is the likely leader for Talayshia Cooper and Janiah Barker, sources tell The Ball Out. Barker has names like Louisville and FSU on her list. However, many believe Georgia is the leader, with FSU and Ole Miss squarely in the mix.
- Last night, we wrote an article on the best prospects in Australia. One of them we mentioned was Chyra Evans, who is the No. 3 prospect. Source tells The Ball Out not to be surprised if Evans chooses Wake Forest over Ohio State and Michigan.
8/24/21:
11:40 p.m. E.T.
- Here’s a surprising tidbit from the West Coast. A very talented guard from the class of 2024 is starting to make a little noise. Her name is Dominique Nesland. Her game is really nice with her slick passing at 5’10”, facilitating ability, and shooting (watch the video of her below). While she has taken unofficial visits to Cal and Arizona State, don’t be surprised to see her committing to Weber State, sources tell The Ball Out. Yes, you saw that right: WEBER STATE!
- With recruiting seriously heating up, if you have ANY prospects that you want to know about that we haven’t mentioned. Email us this week!
8/23/21:
9:11 p.m. ET
- With recruiting in the final stretch, things are definitely picking up! Yesterday, Kara Dunn released her final 4 schools: Georgia, NC State, Georgia Tech, and Mississippi State. If we had to take a guess right now, we believe Georgia Tech is the frontrunner for Dunn.
- Tennessee is only focusing on 3 players to finish up their 2022 class: Amiya Jenkins, Talaysia Scott, and Kyla Oldacre. We keep hearing that they absolutely LOVE Jenkins and think she can be the next great Tennessee guard, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Keep refreshing this page because it’s about to have A LOT of updates.
8/21/21:
4:30 p.m.
- The recruiting dead period is OVER today, so be prepared to get A LOT of updates, so make sure to keep refreshing this page 🙂
8/19/21:
10:11 p.m. E.T.
- UConn is really going hard after Kiki Rice (2022) and top Canadian prospect Cassandra Prosper (2023).
- One name to watch out for in the 2023 class is 6-3 F Ciera Toomey out of Dunmore, PA. The 5-star recruit has many offers, most notably from UConn, Notre Dame, Baylor, Maryland, Oklahoma, NC State, Michigan, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, and more. Right now, we are hearing UConn is her favorite right now.
- Also, if you aren’t a member of our regular The Ball Out Insider but would like to be, email us, and we will give you a very special deal because there’s A LOT happening behind the scenes in the coaching world!
2:16 p.m. E.T.
- One of the top uncommitted recruits in the country is No. 2, ranked Janiah Barker. We are hearing that right now; the top-2 teams for her are Georgia and Ole Miss, sources tell The Ball Out.
- One player that’s visiting Tennessee soon is Talaysia Cooper. She’s ranked No. 18 in the country. We are hearing that Georgia is the leader for her, sources tell The Ball Out.
8/17/21:
1:53 a.m. E.T.
- Top-30 prospect, 6-foot-6 Kyla Oldacre, released her finalists on Twitter early today. Some of the top schools on that list are Duke, Baylor, Maryland, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, NC State, and Ohio State. She cut schools like South Carolina and UConn. While we know, she’s a huge priority for schools, what school is leading the race for her? We haven’t heard there’s a definite leader, but we did talk to a source that said that Maryland is a team to watch. Again, we want to reiterate that we aren’t saying Maryland is the leader, just the team to watch for now.
- Update on KK Bransford: Duke is another school to watch out for, source tells The Ball Out.
- Keep refreshing this page as things are HEATING UP in recruiting!
8/16/21:
3:04 a.m. E.T.
- Kiki Rice’s top schools right now are Stanford, Duke, and UConn, sources tell The Ball Out.
8/15/21:
3:00 a.m. ET
- On Friday, we posted a recruiting article on 2022 4-star guard Amiya Jenkins. The article exploded on social media as NBA legend Dwyane Wade retweeted it (see below)! We are the first media company that covers women’s basketball to have a player of that status retweet a recruiting article! In the article, we talked about the schools that are recruiting her: Tennessee, Kentucky, Baylor, etc. We also stated that we would let people know in our Recruiting Insider know who was the leader for Jenkins. As things stand right now, Tennessee is the favorite for Jenkins. However, in recruiting, things can really change. But for right now, we believe Tennessee has the slight edge.
8/11/21:
4:30 p.m. E.T.
One of our Insiders asked a question, and we will answer it here as the question was on KK Bransford (2022) and Ruby Whitehorn (2022), and what’s the latest on them?
- First, here’s an update on 5-star guard and top-15 recruit KK Bransford: Source tells The Ball Out that right now, look for her to stay near her hometown of Cincinnati with Notre Dame and Louisville as top teams on her list.
- Regarding Ruby Whitehorn, Tennessee dropped her recently. Two schools that are recruiting her the hardest are Michigan and Michigan State, source tells The Ball Out. Michigan State head coach Suzy Merchant is the coach probably recruiting Whitehorn the hardest.
- 4-star guard Amiya Jenkins (2022) out of Kentucky is down to Tennessee and Kentucky, sources tell The Ball Out. Jenkins is slated to take a visit to Tennessee in September.
- For this week only, we will answer any questions regarding prospects and their recruitment. So make sure to email us, and we will keep your name confidential!
8/10/21:
6:11 p.m. E.T.
- 5-star PG KK Arnold in the class of 2023 is supposed to be leaving Midwest Elite to play for All Iowa Attack next year for Nike EYBL, sources tell The Ball Out. Check out her highlights below:
8/8/21:
9:27 p.m. ET
- With recruiting heating up, if there is a prospect you want to know more about, email us. We are going to answer questions this week, so make sure to email us! All questions asked to us will be kept confidential.
- Vanderbilt is targeting Delaney Thomas (2023) and Olivia Olson (2024).
- We know that Flau’jae Johnson has UGA and LSU in her top-3. LSU is making a HARD push for her!
- As we mentioned a week ago, S’mya Nichols was offered recently by Tennessee. However, Notre Dame is right in the mix, and don’t sleep on Kansas, sources tell The Ball Out.
8/5/21:
2:09 p.m E.T.:
- Flau’jae Johnson (2022) has eliminated Tennessee from her recruitment, sources tell The Ball Out.
- 5-star PG Talaysia Cooper is planning on taking 4 official visits before making her decision. The schools she is planning on visiting as of now are FSU, Virginia Tech, UGA, and Tennessee, sources tell The Ball Out. We are also hearing that UGA is in the lead for Cooper.
- FGCU hosted 2022 guard Meredith Maier today.
8/1/21:
6:20 p.m. ET
- A LOT of updates coming with recruiting heating up, so buckle up!
- Tennessee offered 2023 guard S’mya Nichols last Thursday, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Kiki Rice, the nation’s No. 1 P.G. in the class of 2022, has dropped Maryland from consideration, sources tell The Ball Out. Sources believe that she could be a Stanford lean.
- One of the top post players in the class of 2022, Sa’Myah Smith (top-50 in 2022), is really looking hard at LSU and Baylor. Per multiple sources, LSU is the team to beat for Smith right now. Also, Kim Mulkey from LSU really is going hard after Flau’jae Johnson as we mentioned last week. Johnson stock has exploded after she “destroyed” the nation’s #1 player in the class of 2023, Juju Watkins. We heard that Johnson dominated Watkins so it’s no wonder why Flau’jae’s stock has gone to another level.
7/28/21:
4:40 E.T.:
- 5-star prospect Talayshia Cooper’s top-2 right now are Georgia and FSU, sources tell The Ball Out. Also, Tennessee is in the mix here as well.
- Also, another top prospect that Tennessee is really working hard on is Taliah Scott.
2:32 a.m. E.T.
- 2023 prospect Amari Whiting out of Idaho had added offers from UCLA and Arizona, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Tennessee has recently been in contact with one of the top post players in the 2023 class, 6-foot-5 Aalyah Del Rosario, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Flashy 2024 PG Dominique Nesland recently visited Weber State prior to the July evaluation period.
- 5-star center prospect Maggie Mendelson in the 2023 class is likely going to focus on playing just volleyball in college, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. However, Mendelson is a top-20 recruit, so this is a big deal.
7/24//21:
5:24 p.m. E.T.
- Recently, one of the best prospects in the country, Janiah Barker, released her top-5, and while there are many top programs in her final 5, we are hearing that Ole Miss could be the frontrunner to land Barker.
- The one prospect that is tearing up the summer circuit is 6-foot guard Mikaylah Williams. Look for her to end up being the No. 1 prospect in the country for the 2023 class.
- 2022 G Bella Fontleroy is being recruited by many schools: Arkansas, Baylor, Stanford, Arizona State. And while Arizona State used to be the frontrunner, sources tell The Ball Out that the team to watch out for is Arkansas. Another thing we were told is that Missouri State, a team that her mother played for, would have probably landed the talented guard; however, Missouri State botched the recruitment of Fontleroy.
- Kim Mulkey is making a hard push to land Flau’jae Johnson. Johnson’s stock has exploded even more after her performance in Dallas.
- 6-foot guard and 3-star prospect S’mya Nichols out of Shawnee Mission West is being recruited by the likes of Notre Dame, but don’t sleep on Kansas, sources tell The Ball Out.
7/22/21:
12:05 a.m. E.T.
- Big update in recruiting as Tennessee has stopped recruiting 2022 PG Saniah Tyler. Tennessee ended their recruitment of her and pulled their offer, sources tell The Ball Out. Look for Tyler to end up at Kentucky.
- Two schools battling out for 2022 4-star guard Flau’jae Johnson: Georgia and Tennessee. Georgia is the leader for Johnson at this point, sources tell The Ball Out.
- 2023 prospect Amari Whiting out of Idaho is a recruit many schools are starting to really pursue. BYU and Oregon are the two frontrunners for her. Oregon is offering her a lot of opportunities to make money, sources tell The Ball Out.
7/20/21:
11:04 a.m. E.T.
- 2022 PG Saniah Tyler is down to two schools: Tennessee and Kentucky. While Tennessee has been the favorite, they have had trouble getting in contact with her recently. Why is that? Because Tyler has told people that she prefers Kentucky right now. Now, will she change her mind? Who knows, but right now, she likes Kentucky more than Tennessee.
- A name that is under the radar, but a name that has star potential like a Sabrina Ionescu: Kennedie Shuler out of Oregon. She’s super under the radar now, but a name to really watch.
