London, United Kingdom — Wednesday evening was full of cheers as locals went to Le Gothique to take part in the Wandsworth Common Beer and Cider Festival. The festival showcases 100 new and even hard-to-find beers and even more local favorites. In addition, Wednesday night was the opening night of the four-day festival ending on April 1st.

To start with, I was escorted through a very historical building. I could immediately feel the vibes and historical presence. In fact, during my escort, I learned this building was previously an orphanage in 1800 and later an MI5 base during the war, which was very interesting!

At the event entrance, I was given a pint glass and a flyer including all of the information about the produce and taste of the beers and ciders. The venue was filled with friendship groups mostly, ages ranging from 30-75.

Wandsworth + unique flavors of beer

The Wandsworth Common Beer and Cider Festival had an indoor classic pub-style area and then a beer garden courtyard with dim fairy lights and a marque.

Outside in the courtyard, there were many choices of beers and ciders on tap. The servers were all so helpful in explaining to me to difference in tastes between the drinks. I tried classic beer and then unusual cookie flavors and chocolate and oranges! My personal favorites were the sweet classics; however, I wasn’t a fan of the dessert flavor drinks. But that was just my opinion because other people loved them, so I guess it’s a matter of taste!

Guests paid an entrance fee and then were given an unlimited choice of drinks in the evening, which is a great value for money!

Overall, I think it was a very unique and heartily experience, and it would be great for those wanting to discover new drinks and flavors without having the cost of them all individually- in a cozy classic British setting. Food was also available to purchase additionally, which is lovely authentic pub food made by a talented Italian chef.
