- LSU finally landed their man in Brian Kelly on November 29; however, the Tigers’ pursuit of Kelly went on for a while. Source tells The Ball Out that LSU initially pursued Kelly about six weeks ago, but Kelly rejected them. You have to respect the persistence of AD Scott Woodward, who always seems to land the coach he wants.

1:30 p.m. ET.
- Oklahoma’s top target is Clemson DC Brent Venables, a source tells The Ball Out. So look for the Sooners to land Venables as their next head coach.

In a SHOCKER, LSU hires Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly as their next head coach, sources confirm Pete Thamel’s report. Instead, look for Notre Dame to target Cincinnati’s Luke Fickell, sources tell The Ball Out.
Sources: LSU is expecting to hire Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly as the school’s next head coach. An announcement could come as early as tomorrow.
