The college football coaching carousel is in full effect as this will be an epic offseason. Already, multiple big-time hires have taken place, most notably, Lincoln Riley leaving Oklahoma for USC — a huge shocker!

10:36 a.m. ET.

  • LSU finally landed their man in Brian Kelly on November 29; however, the Tigers’ pursuit of Kelly went on for a while. Source tells The Ball Out that LSU initially pursued Kelly about six weeks ago, but Kelly rejected them. You have to respect the persistence of AD Scott Woodward, who always seems to land the coach he wants.


1:30 p.m. ET.

  • Oklahoma’s top target is Clemson DC Brent Venables, a source tells The Ball Out. So look for the Sooners to land Venables as their next head coach.


8:16 p.m. ET.

In a SHOCKER, LSU hires Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly as their next head coach, sources confirm Pete Thamel’s report. Instead, look for Notre Dame to target Cincinnati’s Luke Fickell, sources tell The Ball Out.


4:33 p.m. ET.

Source tells The Ball Out that they believe LSU is targeting Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney for its opening.
