A couple days ago, Cappie Pondexter was waived by the Los Angeles Sparks. The veteran player didn’t stay long on the market though, as the Indiana Fever have announced the signing of Pondexter to the team.

“Cappie is a fierce competitor that has the ability to play both guard positions,” said Pokey Chatman in a press release. “Her experience and mindset will immediately impact our team.”

When Chatman was the coach for the Chicago Sky, Pondexter was on the team, so the two are familiar with each other.

With the addition of Pondexter, the Fever waived Hind Ben Abdelkader.

Indiana is currently at the bottom of the league standings. Adding Pondexter – a seasoned vet, could be the boost the team is looking for to help with being consistent offensively. After all, Pondexter is the WNBA’s fourth leading scorer in history – she knows how to put the ball in the hole.

Indiana has been in games early in numerous matchups, however, long scoring droughts have doomed the Fever, could Pondexter help? Time will tell what impact she’ll have on her fourth team in the league.
