Anaheim, CA — Day one at the Real Street Festival was booming with Hip Hop culture everywhere you looked.

As you walk through the main entrance, you find yourself in Artist Alley where there are tons of murals for patrons to take photos by. The art really immerses you in the culture right away with graffiti designs, Latin art inspired by Real 92.3 host J Cruz and murals of the late Nipsey Hussle and Mac Miller.

Right across the Artist Alley was the Vendor Village where brands such as Huf, Swisher Sweets, God’s Gold and others were raffling off prizes and handing out giveaways.

Just past the Vendor Village is the Honda Center itself which was open the entire festival for guests. The Anaheim Ducks team store was transformed into a pop-up shop selling the merchandise of performing artists like Sheck Wes, Jay Rock, Future and more. The bars inside the Honda Center were open as well giving festival patrons a place to cool off from the outside heat.

Down in the arena, West Coast Customs put on a car show displaying six different hot rods including a Dodge Viper that was made in dedication to the late Paul Walker. The Viper was inspired by the Toyota Supra Walker drove in the original The Fast and the Furious.

Big Boy’s Neighborhood was down in the arena along with the car show and it offered guests a chance to get a fresh fade at the barbershop, a spontaneous tattoo at the parlor, a new pedicure at the nail salon, or a chance to get nostalgic and play arcade-like games in the Dave & Busters section. Radio host Big Boy hosted live interviews with artists in the late afternoon where guests could sit down below or in the arena’s lower section seats to watch.

The artist performances kicked off at 12:10 Saturday afternoon with Feefa and TayF3rd opening up the day. Things got weird early on when Kid Buu vomited on the stage during his performance at 12:30. However, the next few performances went on as planned without any accidents.

Kyle was the first artist of the day to draw a big crowd at 2:20 pm but Sheck Wes topped that at 3:50 pm bringing out the best mosh pits in the crowd of the day. Megan the Stallion followed by bringing out the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ out of every woman in attendance at the south stage.

Top Dawg Entertainment followed with performances by Zacari, Reason, SiR and Jay Rock with the latter saving his hit song “Win” for the very end of his set.

A big wave of fans showed up to the festival later in the evening which really started popping during 2 Chainz performance at 7:35 pm. Rae Sremmurd followed 2 Chainz’s set and the duo’s performance arguably could have won the night had it not been for Future’s performance at the very end.

Future was the only artist of the day to incorporate choreographed dancers during his set which added to the audio performance.

As far as surprise guests go, Reason brought out Cozz during his set Saturday and the duo performed “LamboTruck” which was featured on the hit Revenge of the Dreamers 3 album.

Towards the end of the night, Future brought out Ty Dolla $ign to perform their hit song “Blase,” while also bringing out Meek Mill to perform their hit single “100 Shooters” later during his set.

The festival will continue on Sunday as DMV Tone kicks of the artist performances at 12:10 and artists such as Cardi B, Migos and A$AP Rocky will be headlining the day.
