On July 28th, two world titlists will meet at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter, Jr. (14-0) and WBC lightweight champions Mikey Garcia (30-0) are both undefeated and going head to head in a title vs. title match-up, where the winner walks away with both the IBC and WBF titles.

In a conference call with both Easter and Garcia, the two gave us insight into the biggest fight night in Los Angeles.

“This will be one of the best fights you have ever seen”, says Easter.

He claims his height, speed and power will be the winning advantages over Garcia. At 5’11”, Easter towers a whole four inches over the 5’7″ Garcia.

On paper, it seems like the win is a no-brainer in Easter’s favor with a 76-inch reach advantage, but Garcia knows otherwise. Garcia moves up and down weight classes as if they don’t exist and made clear how good he feels.

“I feel strong, I feel fast and I feel really healthy,” Garcia said.

Both fighters completed their nine-week camp and have left feeling stronger and more prepared than ever. With two pound for pound, number one fighters in the world, a fantastic crowd is anticipated. Ticket sales have sold out categories and sales are continuing to skyrocket for this legendary fight.

Garcia claims that he is stepping into this fight like he does every other fight, with his life on the line. He knows the intensity he needs to bring to the table and with two world titles under his belt, his confidence is not slacking.

Easter spat back that on July 28th, we will see him with two belts. He likes to challenge himself and he knows that this fight is going to define his career.

The two are both driven to make history and know that this performance is between two of the biggest fighters. Easter and Garcia are about to embark on a career-defining fight in just a little over a week.

At the Staples Center in Los Angeles, this champion vs. champion fight of the world will take place. Tickets are selling fast and the fight will also be live via Showtime. Saturday, July 28th, two undefeated champions looking to add another belt to their collection.
