A change is coming in the WNBA. Becky Hammon who had an illustrious career in the league and serving as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs is headed to Las Vegas as its next head coach.

For days there have been rumors of Hammon taking over the Aces despite Bill Laimbeer still holding the position. Furthermore, she has been a name in previous coaching searches. But as the old saying goes, money talks and even though she’s been a great addition to the Spurs coaching staff, this is a big moment for the former WNBA star. Hammon is set to become the highest-paid WNBA coach, per NBA insider Adrian Woj.

Hammon has been under Spurs coach Gregg Popovich since 2014. During her career in the league, she was a six-time WNBA All-Star.

More details are to come as the story develops.
