Following a historical season, Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Brown is making waves with recent a flurry of recent roster changes. The Browns have made an effort with visible signings and have used their cap space to their advantage. But what is really going on in Cleveland? Let’s start under center. The big name signing of Tyrod Taylor looks good on paper but there are question marks surrounding his durability.

These questions, despite a decent record in Buffalo brought Tyrod to the city. Drew Stanton’s addition brings a different dynamic to the position if Tyrod is absent.

Despite the question marks surrounding Taylor’s health, his immediate impact and leadership skills cannot be denied. Upon joining the team he took time to personally reach out to all the players on the team offensively and defensively. All eyes will be on Tyrod as he leads a “change in mindset” for the Browns.
Jarvis Landry is another star signing that adds a weapon to compliment Josh Gordon. There is a question of where Landry will fit into the offense. If you assume he’s a deep threat he only had one reception of 40+ yards last season. You want to root for Josh Gordon and his talent, but can he stay out of the NFL drug testing protocol? Can he be reliable?
The Browns let go of Isaiah Crowell, and added Carlos Hyde. A solid move, but he came from a running back by committee situation. With Duke Johnson’s numbers falling the past two seasons Hyde will be expected to shoulder the load of carries.
Depth, depth, depth. Over time teams have consistently added weapons but what about the offensive line? You’re looking at a team that ranked 6th in sacks given up over the course season and just had their legendary offensive tackle Joe Thomas retire. With the additions of Chris Hubbard and Donald Stephenson there are still questions up front. Do you make this up in the draft and get unproven talent to protect the new QB? With 5 picks in the top 64 players available this year the focus has to be up front.
Offensively they were 73/216 attempts on 3rd down. Ranking them in the bottom half of the league, will these off season moves allow them reverse their fortune? The two teams in the super bowl ranked in the top 5 for 3rd down efficiency.
Defensively the browns have an overflow of DB’s. The question is who will rise to the top to match Jabrill Peppers and shore up the secondary that led the league in interception but still managed They have a pair of gunners at DE with Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah
With the major moves made in Cleveland this year after an 0-16 season, it will be exciting to see what affect this Coach Brown professed “cleansing” will have on the future of the team. Cleveland will be on the clock with the 1st and 4th overall picks.
