The Seattle Storm have been hot in free agency, as they signed multi-time All Star Skylar Diggs, well the Storm has done it again as multiple sources tell The Ball Out that top free agent in the WNBA, Nneka Oguwimike is expected to sign with the Storm.

Following a successful 12 seasons with the Sparks, which included a 2016 WNBA Championship ring and the 2016 MVP trophy, Ogwumike has decided her next destination – this is a massive Storm signing.

A Noteworthy Departure from Sparks

Nneka Ogwumike’s departure marks the end of an era for the Sparks. The unrestricted free agent, who was drafted first overall by the franchise in 2012, has been an instrumental figure in the team’s successes over the years. Her decision to leave the team she has played for since the beginning of her professional career is a significant moment, both for the Sparks and for Ogwumike herself.

“Nneka Ogwumike is leaving” – these four words have caused a stir in the basketball world, signalling a major shift in the WNBA landscape. The former MVP’s decision to leave the Sparks is a big blow to the team, but it also opens up exciting new opportunities for other teams in the league.

The Los Angeles Sparks will undoubtedly feel the loss of Ogwumike’s leadership and on-court prowess. However, this also presents an opportunity for the team to rebuild and develop new strategies. As the Sparks navigate this transitional phase, fans and analysts alike will be keenly watching how they adapt in the upcoming season.

Note Where Nneka Ogwumike is Heading

While the Sparks are left to fill the void left by Ogwumike, the Seattle Storm are ready to welcome the former MVP into their fold. The Storm have been active in free agency, recently signing multi-time All Star Skylar Diggins-Smith. Now, with the expected addition of Ogwumike, the Storm are shaping up to be a formidable force in the WNBA.

The prospect of Nneka Ogwumike joining the Storm is a thrilling development for the team and its fans, in light of losing Breanna Stewart to New York last year in free agency. Her experience, skillset, and leadership abilities will undoubtedly bolster the Storm’s roster, providing them with a significant advantage as they gear up for a potential championship season.

It’s clear that the Storm are building a team capable of challenging for the championship. With the expected signing of Ogwumike, they’ve sent a strong message to the rest of the league. The Storm are serious about winning, and they’re assembling a team capable of doing just that.
