It has been a month since Kanye West announced that he will run for the presidency of the United States. The rapper announced while the country celebrated July 4, his candidacy to be president of his country for the November elections, in which Republican President Donald Trump will seek re-election.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States #2020VISION”, the rapper tweeted.
Kanye’s candidacy is taking some flight, in at least a half-dozen states in the Union. This is because, according to the New York Times, a series of Republican militants have proposed to help the rapper to appear on the ballot on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
According to reports, this effort would be an operation directed from the same allies of President Trump, and the objective would be none other than to subtract votes from the Democrat candidate, Joe Biden Jr.
The ploy was made public earlier this week, when Lane Ruhland, a lawyer who worked for the Trump campaign, released ballot signatures to Wisconsin election officials on behalf of Kanye’s campaign.
Likewise, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, from the largest city in the state of Wisconsin, also reported that at least five other people related to the Kanye West campaign are active militants in the Republican Party or are supporters of Trump.
Since the candidacy of the current President, who is seeking reelection, Tim Murtaugh, campaign spokesman, said there was no legal conflict with the participation of a Trump campaign lawyer in the nomination of the man.
“We are not aware of anything that Kanye West is doing or who is doing it for him,” Murtaugh stated.
