According to reports, Golden State Warriors’ point guard and sharpshooter Stephen Curry was involved in a car crash on Friday morning in Oakland.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. Curry was on his way to the Warriors’ shootaround on Friday when the incident happened, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. He did not sustain any injuries in the crash. Warriors spokesperson Raymond Ridder also stated that Curry was involved in the accident but arrived safely at the team’s practice facility following the crash.
Reports say according to a California Highway Patrolman that Curry was hit twice; first, a car spun out and hit him, then a second car rear-ended him. Curry’s Porsche was damaged. CHP also says that weather likely played a role.
Curry this season is averaging 29.5 points, 5 rebounds and 6.1 assists on 51 percent shooting in just 12 games of action this season. Curry is still treating a groin injury and will not be playing in the Warriors matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Teammate Klay Thompson says that he heard that his fellow splash brother was okay and gave the media a story of when he got in an accident while in college.
Everyone gets into car crashes and no one crash is more devastating than another and we’re glad that Steph and the families also involved in the crash are okay.
