The last couple months for Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Football team has been very eventful. The university opened an investigation into Meyer after reports conflicted with his knowledge on abuse by his ex-assistant.
Today Ohio State gave its decision on the findings. The university has suspended Meyer, without pay, until Sept. 2. At that time, he can then rejoin the team, however, he is not allowed to coach in the Buckeyes’ first three games. He will be missing games against Oregon State, Rutgers, and No. 16 TCU.
Meyer wasn’t the only one suspended, though. Athletic director Gene Smith also has been suspended from Aug. 31 until Sept. 16 without pay.
