Oakland, CA — As Golden State has yet another NBA Championship parade, it brings Draymond Green’s confidence to a whole different level as he talks up his team, and takes direct shots aimed at the Cavs and LeBron James.
With the Warriors winning back-to-back NBA Championships, making it their third title in only four years, Green was in rare form celebrating his team’s sweep of the Cavaliers and made sure that everyone knew how “good” the Warriors are, and how “soft” the Cavs are.
“Honestly, they want a political answer, but the fact of the matter is, we just cut from a different cloth,” he said. “There’s a lot of guys in this league, they’re soft. We’re just cut from a different cloth. … I told one of them dudes from Cavs after the game, he tried to shake my hand, I said, ‘Tristan (Thompson), we ain’t cut the same.'”
To echo Draymond Green’s pure happiness in his behavior and statement, he sported another custom made t-shirt for the second straight year, which was a direct shot at Lebron James.
Adding salt to James’ and the Cavs’ wound, the shirt was a gold fist facing upside-down wearing three championship rings (Warriors titles in 2015, 2017 and 2018), referencing an Instagram post by James earlier in November of this past season, which featured a clenched fist from the children’s cartoon ‘Arthur’ with the caption “Mood…” underneath.
While the Warriors bask in their championship glory and it may currently be a salty situation for James, it will make for another interesting year in the NBA as the cards unfold and the league’s finest all continue to strive for greatness by being the best of the best.
This was the most recent sweep in the NBA Finals since 2007, when the Cavs were swept by the San Antonio Spurs.
