Oakland, CA — There are a few choice words one could use to describe Klay Thompson’s explosion tonight, but we’ll keep polite, and just say it was insane.
With the Houston Rockets getting out the gates quickly and building a 17 point lead after the first, and being up by 10 at halftime, one would surmise that the Golden State Warriors were not only in trouble, but could get eliminated.
Notice the keyword, “could,” as Thompson went balitistic in the second half, nailing three after three after three. What caused him to explode?
“I don’t want to go home,” Thompson bluntly stated to TNT’s David Aldridge.
His offensive detonation fueled a blistering Warriors run to end the game: 66-25. Let that sink in for just one second … 66-25. That’s not just unreal, it’s literally illogical, nonsensical and absurd. But, when the Warriors get going, they roll like no other NBA team can.
However, many questions remain: can they do it in Houston? Will Chris Paul play? How will the Warriors handle a pressure they’ve never faced: Game 7 on the road? Will Andre Iguodala suit up? Can the Rockets contain Golden State’s offense one more time?
Who knows? But regardless, it should be one hell of a game!
