Seattle, WA — Thursday nights’ game was a nail biter for both teams as it was neck and neck till the last second. Yet, the Seattle Seahawks (4-1) took the W over the Los Angeles Rams (3-2) with a final score of 30-29.

The Rams started the night strong with two back-to-back field goals, but the same could put be said about Seattle, as the team would have a rocky start to begin the game.

It’s normally tough to come into Seattle and looked as poised as Los Angeles did to start the game. However, the 12th man would soon make their voices heard, bringing energy to the team. The fans got a front row seat to witnessing their home team begin to play Seahawk football as they’re accustomed to seeing.

Seattle began to feel it towards the end of the opening frame and to begin the second period. Receiver Tyler Lockett would land a miraculous touchdown a mere inches from the end line to get the Seahawks on the board (7-6) with 49 seconds to go in the first quarter. Shortly after, wideout DK Metcalf secured a 40-yard touchdown to begin the second, giving his team a 14-6 lead.

The Rams would respond to those back-to-back scores shortly before halftime, as Cooper Kupp would get into the endzone with six seconds left in the first half. His touchdown made the Rams deficit only one-point, 14-13.

Unrelenting, the Rams stormed the field scoring another touchdown hardly a few minutes into the third quarter. Taking the lead, 20-14, after running back Todd Gurley would take the ball eight yards for the touchdown. Back and forth, Seahawks then Rams, both teams played so phenomenally it was impossible to tell who would win.

With the score 26-24 in favor of Los Angeles in the final frame, the Seahawks were blessed with better field position to score after Clay Matthews received a penalty for roughing the passer. This would be the turning point in the game and would lead Seattle to just barely scoring their final touchdown with 2 and a half minutes left on the clock. Attaining a 30-29 lead.

Things looked scary as one of the more dangerous quarterbacks had the ball and time left on the clock in Jared Goff. Yet, Just when it looked like the Rams were going to take the game, the Seahawks’ Tesric Thompson flew to the rescue and caught the most beautiful interception giving control back to the Seattle.

The Rams took back possession however with a minute and a half left on the clock; all they needed was a simple field goal to take the game but the 12th man would not let up. With 15 seconds left, the Rams missed the field goal and the Seahawks won the game 30-29.

Seattle has won their last two games and now hit the road to face the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 13. On the other end, the Rams look to get back to their winning ways as they head back home to face the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 13.
