Spear’s decision comes after a highly competitive recruitment process once she hit the transfer portal that drew interest from top programs across the country, including South Carolina, Maryland, UCLA, Texas, and Baylor. As a standout player at Wake Forest, she was named to the 2021 ACC All-Freshman team, 2022 All-ACC first team, and 2023 All-ACC second team.

The addition of Spear is a massive win for the Lady Vols, who are looking to regain their dominant form on the national stage. Her scoring prowess and dynamic playmaking abilities make her an exciting addition to the team’s roster, and fans are eagerly anticipating her debut in orange and white.

Jewel Spear is a highlight show

Get ready for some exciting action on the court, because Spear is a scoring machine. Widely considered one of the most thrilling scorers in the country, Spear’s ability to hit three-pointers is nothing short of exceptional. In fact, her performance is often compared to the likes of Golden State Warriors star, Stephen Curry.

Perfect fit for the Lady Vols

After losing star guard Jordan Horston to the WNBA, Tennessee needed to find a replacement. To be honest, this was a grand slam for what the Lady Vols needed. Spear is explosive, a top-tier three-point shooter, someone who has flourished in big games, and very athletic. She is a perfect replacement for Horston.
