Gersson Rosas will no longer be the president of basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The franchise announced today it has parted ways with Rosas after hiring him back in May of 2019.
“Today, the Minnesota Timberwolves parted ways with President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas,” shared Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor. “As an organization, we remain committed to building a winning team that our fans and city can be proud of.”
Rosas was hired by Minnesota to replace Tom Thibodeau in 2019. Prior to joining the Timberwolves, Rosas spent most of his time with the Houston Rockets as an executive. With the NBA season around the corner, Minnesota is already under new ownership which seems today’s move is the first step in heading in a different direction within the front office.
The front office will start a search to fill the position, but in the meaning time, Sachin Gupta is expected to be the interim head of basketball operations. Gupta is Minnesota’s executive vice president of basketball operations.
