6/8/22
10:51 p.m. ET.
- Things are really starting to pick up again with school starting back up.
- Kentucky transfer Maddie Scherr really wanted to go to Tennessee, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. Even after the Lady Vols had moved on with Jillian Hollingshead, Scherr’s AAU coach was hoping that Tennessee would get back involved. And if they had an extra scholarship, we believe Scherr would be in Knoxville.
- Now onto some coaching drama. New Louisiana Tech Associate Head Coach LaNitra Perry was supposed to be at Minnesota; however, Perry found out that her former boss, Toledo head coach Tricia Cullop was bad-mouthing her to multiple head coaches, sources tell The Ball Out. However, Perry has taken the high road, sources tell The Ball Out.
6/3/22
9:09 p.m. ET.
- BYU star Shaylee Gonzales has entered the transfer portal. As our Insiders know, she almost did it last year and had to be talked into going back to BYU. Gonzales was headed to Stanford if she had left last year; we believe Stanford is in the mix now.
- FGCU assistant coach Mandi Pierce is stepping down, sources tell The Ball Out. She recently had her 1st child and is stepping away from coaching.
5/25/22:
2:28 a.m. ET.
- We heard something very interesting today. Top-20 program FGCU recently lost a recruiting target to Wofford, but here’s the kicker. The recruit got a $15,000 NIL deal from the Terriers, while FGCU has NO NIL money at all … just embarrassing for a top-20 program. For all of their on-court success, they are easily one of the worst recruiting staffs in the country. Because it’s well known that Kierstan Bell, who recently went No. 11 in the WNBA Draft, fell into their lap as a transfer. Bell’s family moved from Ohio to close to Fort Myers, so that’s why Bell went there. Second, FGCU is so bad a recruiting; look at their Twitter; they barely tweet. Bell exploded yesterday, scoring 12 points in 10 minutes for the Las Vegas Aces, and guess what? FGCU hasn’t said anything about it on Twitter or Instagram. Talk about a self-inflicted wound in recruiting. Imagine not being social in a social media world and then wondering why you struggle in recruiting!
5/22/22:
12:34 p.m. ET.
- George Porcha is leaving Boston College and headed to Virginia Tech, sources tell The Ball Out. However, as we mentioned in our latest article, Notre Dame Associate Head Coach Coquese Washington is the leading candidate for Rutgers.

- Here are some more names we are hearing for the Rutgers job: Tammi Reiss (URI head coach); Megan Griffith (Columbia); Jolette Law (South Carolina); Shereka Wright (UT Arlington); Chelsea Newton (Texas A&M assistant coach). We know that Seton Hall head coach Tony Bozzella expected to be in the mix; however, Rutgers has not reached out to him, surprising coaches in the industry.
5/6/22
10:51 a.m. ET.
- As we mentioned months ago, we were hearing that C. Vivian Stringer would not be returning to Rutgers. A name we heard early on as a replacement was Michigan’s, Kim Barnes Arico. We hear they are attempting to lure North Carolina’s Courtney Banghart, sources tell The Ball Out.
4/22/22
2:00 p.m. ET.
- Texas transfer Latasha Lattimore was on an official to Duke this week, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. However, we believe that Duke is the frontrunner since her best friend is Blue Devils guard Shayeann Day-Wilson.

7:03 p.m. ET.
- Okay, now we will reveal the drama that’s been brewing between Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Former Bulldogs starting PG Myah Taylor is transferring, and as we have learned, new head coach Sam Purcell believes she’s telling people to go to Ole Miss, multiple sources tell The Ball Out on the condition of anonymity. Sources tell us that Taylor is believed to be heading to Ole Miss and using her access to the weight room to recruit players to Oxford. Purcell, sources tell us, believes that Coach Yo is behind this and is doing her best to sabotage his program. Purcell is livid, and this is a situation to watch going forward.

- This is some WNBA news regarding the upcoming Draft! After speaking with sources today, we expect the No. 1 pick to be Rhyne Howard. However, one of the reasons might surprise you. - One of the coaches Vic Schaefer is planning to hire is Elena Lovato, sources tell The Ball Out. She was with him at Miss St and Texas his first year.
- New Texas A&M head coach Joni Taylor is looking at Sydney Colson as a possible assistant, sources tell The Ball Out.
4/8/22
7:36 p.m. ET.
- While multiple sources had told us that Saniya Rivers would enter the transfer portal, we no longer believe that will be the case. There’s a reason we didn’t report it publicly, as we at The Ball Out weren’t 100% sure she would.
4/7/22
7:22 p.m. ET
- The Cal Poly head coaching search is down to current associate head coach (and former player) Kari Duperon and current Santa Clara assistant Kristin Iwanaga, multiple sources tell The Ball Out.

- There were 4 finalists for SJSU, sources tell The Ball Out. Two got offered and turned them down (including the SUU coach we told you all about). April Philips from Texas is another one and the last one was on campus Mon but we don’t know who that is yet.
4/5/22
8:11 p.m. ET.

- This is a significant — and surprising — update! An Insider source tells us just now that USC head coach Lindsay Gottlieb is contemplating going back to the NBA. She has become frustrated with the transfer portal as her roster has been decimated by it. Since the end of the season, at least four players have entered it: Jordyn Jenkins, Alissa Pili, Amaya Oliver, and Angel Jackson.
- Don’t be surprised if Duke’s Kara Lawson thinks the same way. This is a hunch.
4/3/22
3:04 p.m. ET.
- As we mentioned in yesterday’s update, some issues are happening around Ole Miss’ Yolette McCuin-McPhee. Today, Rebels assistant and legend Armintie (Price) Herrington stepped down. We first heard about this when McCuin-McPhee was forced to return to Ole Miss after things fell through when Georgia went back on their verbal agreement to hire Coach Yo. However, multiple sources tell us that this is NOT the only change happening; other departures are forthcoming.
4/2/22
9:58 p.m. ET.
- Both Temple and Saint Louis are far along in their hiring process and could be making their decision soon, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Now, here’s some really good stuff! Ole Miss’ Yolette McCuin-McPhee has burned a lot of bridges recently. As we first reported, there was a verbal agreement between Georgia and McCuin-McPhee; however, there’s so much more to the situation. Supposedly, she is mad at Joni Taylor for not doing more to help her get the Georgia job, multiple sources tell The Ball Out on the condition of anonymity. Coach Yo was so mad that when a group text she was in congratulated Taylor on getting the Texas A&M job, she immediately left the group text. Also, we know for a fact that many Georgia alumni were against Coach Yo being their next head coach and told the AD Josh Brooks that if she were hired, they would not support the program. Taylor has been class personified during this ordeal and stayed above the fray, sources tell The Ball Out.

3/29/22
5:04 p.m. ET.
- We are shocked by what sources have been telling us, and initially, we didn’t believe there were legs to it. However, too many sources are telling us, so we have to say something now. Sources tell The Ball Out that Michigan’s Kim Barnes-Arico could be leaving to go to Rutgers. Remember, Barnes-Arico is from that region of the country and coached previously at Fairleigh Dickinson–Madison, NJIT, Adelphi, and St. John’s.

11:04 a.m. ET.
- Here’s something that no one knows, but we will share it with our Insiders. There was some severe friction between Syracuse and Felisha Legette-Jack. The Ball Out sources tell us that at one point, Legette-Jack has pulled out of being considered since Syracuse was taking so long. So Syracuse did their best to hire Marquette’s Megan Duffy, but that fell through. Syracuse then returned to Legette-Jack, offered her more money, and the deal was done.
- UCF is targeting a high-profile black female, sources tell The Ball Out.

- We finally know ALL the details of why Georgia decided to back out of their verbal agreement with Ole Miss head coach Yolett McCuin-McPhee. 3/24/22
1:14 p.m. ET.
- New Mexico head coach Mike Bradbury is desperately looking to leave, sources tell The Ball Out. He has been doing his best to get out of New Mexico. We break the news at noon on Thursday after talking to multiple sources, then later on in the day, something when awry with Yo and Georgia. A source told us that she was convinced not to take the job and backed out of the verbal agreement.

1:17 p.m. ET.
- As we mentioned a while back, Clemson head coach Amanda Butler was on the hot seat, and she’s feeling the pressure. Star guard Gabby Elliott has decided to transfer, and grad transfer Kiara Lewis is no longer with the program. This could be a domino effect as we wouldn’t be surprised if the top-15 recruit in 2022, Ruby Whitehorn, asks for her release.
- There is some chatter that Nicki Collen is on the verge of losing the locker room at Baylor. If they lose to unranked Kansas today, things could get real interesting in Waco, Texas. We know of a starter’s mother reaching out to a coach in the Big 12, source tells The Ball Out. That’s not a good sign for Baylor.
- When we got this next bit of information, we were shocked, but Mississippi State interim head coach Doug Novak has a legitimate shot at keeping the job, source tells The Ball Out. Mind you, Novak had NO prior women’s basketball coaching experience before this year. And while he’s done a decent job, he should not be considered for the position going forward, in our opinion.
1/14/22
10:20 p.m. ET.
- Don’t be surprised to see Ole Miss head coach Yolett McCuin leave, sources tell The Ball Out. However, we are starting to hear her name linked to Florida, so it’s something to be aware of going forward.
- UConn has offered 2024 post Olivia Anderson, but here’s the catch: they have told her that she couldn’t mention the offer publicly! That’s strange to us, but that’s for sure what they told her, source tells The Ball Out.
- Amanda Butler is on a SERIOUS HOT SEAT at Clemson! We don’t expect her to be back next year unless things improve dramatically!
- Baylor is now 0-2 in the Big 12, and people in the industry think Nikki Collen is overrated, like seriously overrated, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Things are going REAL BAD at Wisconsin for Marisa Mosely; they are 3-12 and 0-5 in the conference. But, if things don’t improve, don’t be surprised if Mosely is on the hot seat next year in only her second year.
- Jobs to watch out for in the Big 10 are Michigan State, Illinois, and Minnesota, sources tell The Ball Out. All three could become open at season’s end.
- There’s starting to be some chatter behind-the-scenes that Georgia State head coach might not survive after this season. Being that’s he’s in downtown Atlanta, a hotbed for recruiting, and still not having success, that’s a bad look.
- Some WNBA Insider news: Diana Taurasi is making the Phoenix Mercury hire, source tells The Ball Out.
- Vic Schaefer was livid at his assistant coaches after their loss to Kansas the other day. Not only that, Schaefer blamed his assistants for Texas.
1/13/22
10:45 p.m. ET.
- Texas was disrespectful to Kansas yesterday during their shootaround, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. While the Jayhawks were at shootaround, the Longhorns’ came onto the court while Kansas was finishing up and started stretching! Needless to say, that made the Jayhawks’ players and coaching staff angry, which was the spark that caused Kansas to upset No. 13 Texas.
- Coaches across the country are baffled by Ashlynn Shade’s commitment to UConn; many sources tell The Ball Out. With Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd already at UConn, many sources felt her committing to UConn was a jump of the gun. However, sources tell us that Shade’s father really pushed Ashlynn to UConn.
- Geno Auriemma has told Azzi Fudd and her family that after she graduates, he plans to retire, source tells The Ball Out. Now, we want to underscore, that anything can change and Auriemma might have a change of heart, however, our job is to tell you information as we hear it!
- Florida star Lavender Briggs is visiting Maryland this week, sources tell The Ball Out.
1/9/22
10:13 p.m. ET.
- A name to watch for Texas A&M is Louisville head coach Jeff Walz, sources tell The Ball Out. Walz doesn’t like his current AD, and we know that the Aggies’ administration likes Walz. Also, watch for Walz to Texas if Vic Schaefer takes the A&M job.
1/7/22
7:15 p.m. ET.
- This update is going to be good, so enjoy!
- As we mentioned before, watch out for Rickea Jackson transferring from Mississippi State at year’s end, sources tell The Ball Out. Jackson didn’t play in her last game. Not saying it’s going to happen, but we are hearing rumblings that she could hit the transfer portal.
- Arkansas and Tennessee played last weekend, and it was evident that the Razorbacks’ game plan was to rough up the Lady Vols. First, a clip went viral where an Arkansas player hit Tamari Key in the face. Well, one of the coaches from Tennessee tweeted out the clip, and it made Razorbacks head coach Mike Neighbors livid, sources tell The Ball Out. Also, there is some bad blood as Arkansas assistant Lacey Goldwire was FIRED by Tennessee last year — and she wasn’t happy about it at all and left on BAD terms.
- Dawn Staley wasn’t feeling the media yesterday in Baton Rouge and felt like “they were trying to bait her into shitting on Nikki McCray” by pouring into praise with comparing kids, sources told The Ball Out.
- The only WNBA team without a head coach is the Phoenix Mercury. We reported first that Pokey Chatman was interviewed by the Mercury. However, we are also here to report that Phoenix has not been in touch with Chatman in weeks.
- The NIL is changing things in sports. To give you all an example, multiple sources tell us that the going rate for ex-Oklahoma QB Caleb Williams is $2.5M!! Back in the day, we also know that Auburn paid over $200,000 to land Cam Newton. We are bringing this up because with Paige Bueckers having a $1M Gatorade deal, they are very much involved when it comes to her return. So don’t be surprised if she doesn’t, money talks!
1/3/22
2:43 a.m. ET.
- Recently, Arkansas State head coach Matt Daniel abruptly stepped down. Sources tell The Ball Out that the AD basically told Daniel, “I can’t fire you, but I’m going to make it miserable for you to be here.” So Daniel decided to step down, which caught many people off guard because they didn’t know the backstory of what we had just revealed.
- Marquette is another team with a massive Covid-19 outbreak with eight players testing positive in the past few days, multiple sources tell The Ball Out.
12/31/21
12:47 p.m ET.
- Kansas has head their last two games because of a serious Covid-19 outbreak within their program, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. Eight players, a manager, a trainer, and an assistant coach have all tested positive.
12/29/21
1:13 p.m. ET.
- One thing about being a Super VIP Insider is you get information that no one else can get 🙂
- This update is on the WNBA, specifically the New York Liberty. Walt Hopkins was abruptly fired after his second year as head coach with the Liberty. This move caught many people off-guard. However, through our network of sources, we have been able to narrow down as to why. It’s one of two things, multiple sources tell The Ball Out Insider: a run-in with Layshia Clarendon and/or issues with other players on the team. We are going to keep digging to find out all the details.
- Now, let’s talk about Liberty rookie Sabrina Ionescu. Her work ethic and leadership have been questioned in the WNBA, sources tell The Ball Out. She’s not the first in the gym but is one of the first to leave; a source just told The Ball Out. One example is that a coach wanted to help her improve her game, and she just brushed it off. Ionescu attempted to get one of her former assistant coaches from Oregon hired with the Liberty; however, the Liberty rebuffed it.
12/28/21
10:52 p.m. ET.
- The situation behind-the-scenes with Texas A&M and Vic Schaefer is getting even more traction that no one outside of The Ball Out Insiders knows about. We are hearing that one of the main boosters pushing to get Schaefer is not only a billionaire; he happens to be Schaefer’s best friend! So there is NO way a booster with those kinds of pockets is getting involved unless Schaefer has told him that he will come to A&M. The billionaire booster is willing to pay Schaefer’s substantial buyout from Texas to bring him “home.”
12/27/21
11:09 p.m. ET.
- We hope you have had a great holiday, and for those who celebrate Christmas, we hope you had that as well—now getting back to some excellent Insider news for our Insider family.
- With UConn struggling, many coaches are starting to feel that Geno Auriemma has only been able to win with generational talent. One coach in the Big 12 was stunned to find out that many coaches view Auriemma as a fraud and not on the level of Pat Summit. This coach finally found out the real story of how Maya Moore ended up picking UConn over Tennessee. It had to do with money, Kathryn Moore’s bags business at the time, and more.
- If we had to pick who we believe is the favorite for S’Mya Nichols right now, we would say Kansas.
- North Carolina head coach Courtney Banghart went to see 2023 recruit Ashlynn Shade last week, multiple sources tell The Ball Out.
12/24/21
10:54 a.m. ET.
- As you all have seen, Muffett McGraw called out ESPN for their UConn bias. She also ripped the overhype of UConn players. And trust us, MANY coaches feel the same say, but never said so publicly. We are hearing from many coaches who feel that Geno Auriemma is overrated; moreover, they say if he doesn’t have a transformational, generational talent, he’s a pretty mediocre coach.
- Yesterday, top-20 2023 player Montaya Dew committed to Arizona. Some sources say that her commitment might have stemmed from her offer possibly being pulled. Dew struggled at the Tournament of Champions and is not a starter on her new high school team. We have heard that some schools had cooled on Dew.
- As we have stated multiple times in the past, Kelly Bond will not be the next head coach at Texas A&M. Multiple sources continued to tell The Ball Out that she had no shot of being the Aggies’ head coach regardless of the narrative publicly that she would be. One person who believed that Bond would get the position was Gary Blair. However, multiple sources have informed The Ball Out that Texas A&M’s administration has informed Blair that they will not consider Bond. This is why Blair finally decided to retire this year, as he kept delaying his retirement to force the Aggies’ administration hand. Ultimately, however, they called his bluff and will pay him $3M to be Emeritus.
- With Cindy Stein retiring at year’s end at Southern Illinois, many have assumed that Jody Adams-Birch would be the next head coach. However, multiple sources tell The Ball Out that there are reservations within Southern Illinois’ administration regarding Birch. It stems from her behavior during her tenure with the program from 2004-07. A name to watch is Drury men’s basketball assistant Chris Carr, who could replace Stein. Carr played in the NBA, is an alum, and was an assistant women’s basketball coach at Kansas State for the 2020-21 season. Carr is going hard after Southern Illinois, multiple sources tell The Ball Out.
- 2023 UCLA commit Jada Williams moved from Missouri to California for her junior season. So naturally, many people wanted to know why. Sources tell The Ball Out that Missouri has a law where high school prospects can’t profit from their Name, Image, and Likeness. So that’s why she is now in California.
12/20/21
12:43 p.m ET.
- There are starting to be rumblings that Illinois head coach Nancy Fahey could be in trouble as the Fighting Illini is off to another bad start this year. One source tells The Ball Out that assistant coach Corry Irvin could be her possible replacement.
- One player’s recruiting that is heating up in the class of 2023 is S’Mya Nichols. Multiple sources tell The Ball Out she was on Kansas’ campus again yesterday. This is the second time in the past couple of weeks that she has visited the Jayhawks unofficially. Right now, we believe that Tennessee is a slight frontrunner, but we believe Kansas is the sleeper team for Nichols.
- The WNBA Draft lottery was held yesterday, and the Washington Mystics won the first overall pick. However, the things that we have heard are fascinating. A source very connected to the WNBA does not believe the Mystics will keep the selection right now. Also, many are questioning the motor of Kentucky’s Rhyne Howard. Many believe in her talent, but her motor is in question.
- Last week, we first broke the news that Phoenix had interviewed Pokey Chatman. We hear that interview went well, and it was about 45 minutes long, sources tell The Ball Out.
- When it comes to the Mercury, the bottom line is this: they will hire WHOEVER Diana Taurasi wants, point-blank!
12/15/21
10:34 p.m. ET.
- UConn, South Carolina, and Tennessee have all gone to see Madison Booker in the past week, sources tell The Ball Out. Booker is the No. 6 recruit in the 2023 class.
9:01 p.m. ET.
- Do not be surprised if Gatorade advises Paige Bueckers to sit out the entire season. We aren’t saying that she definitely won’t play again; however, don’t be surprised if she is advised to sit out by Gatorade.
12/14/21
8:49 p.m. ET.
- A LOT to get into in this update, so get you a cup of tea and enjoy 🙂 Also, keep refreshing this page because things are getting hot!
- We had suspected and told people behind the scenes that what Geno Auriemma did was reckless and would most likely cause some tension. But guess where the tension would come from: Gatorade. Remember, they just signed Bueckers to an endorsement deal that could pay the UConn star $1M. And if you think a billion-dollar corporation like Gatorade wasn’t livid at Auriemma for having Bueckers in the game, you are being naive. They were furious! Gatorade was involved in getting a second opinion on her knee, which led to her getting surgery. Don’t be surprised if she doesn’t come back as anticipated in 8 weeks.
- A 2023 prospect that’s on the rise is S’Mya Nichols. Many schools like Tennessee have been out to see her in recent weeks. About a week ago, we would have said that Tennessee was the frontrunner; however, we can say that Kansas is making a huge run at the hometown star. They are neck-and-neck with Tennessee for Nichols, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. Other schools that we believe Nichols is considering are Vanderbilt and West Virginia.
- Vic Schaefer is not happy with his two new assistants: Calamity McEntire and April Phillips, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. Schaefer has complained about both privately and has no plans to bring them with him to Texas A&M if he gets that job, and yes, as we mentioned before, he wants the Aggies job!
- Despite her recent struggles, Robin Pingeton is safe at Missouri, especially after the Tigers got shellacked by in-state rival Missouri State.
- NBA superstar Kyrie Irving recently went to see Juju Watkins play. Based on what we are hearing, many believe that Watkins will stay on the west coast and end up at either USC or UCLA, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Last weekend, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina were in attendance to watch Olivia McGhee in her game against Meadowbrook. As we first reported, McGhee collapsed during the game and had to go to the hospital. Based on our sources, McGhee is doing better and recovering.
12/10/21
2 p.m. ET
We heard from multiple coaches last night at Top 10 programs and the consensus message regarding UConn and Geno Auriemma is, “Coach motherfucker, coach!” Multiple coaches feel that Geno has always been given a pass, been given praise while he’s had the luxury to coach generational talents. They feel no sympathy seeing him lose now that he doesn’t have arguably the best player in the country.
12/7/21
9:44 p.m. ET.
- We first reported here in the Super VIP Insider that Sandy Brondello could be out as Phoenix Mercury head coach. Well, it was made official yesterday evening, and from what we are hearing, Diana Taurasi could be the reason why Brondello’s contract was not renewed. Sources also tell The Ball Out that Brondello was devastated to find out that she wasn’t being retained and that it completely caught her off guard. So stay tuned; keep refreshing as we will get to the bottom of why she was let go.
- Yesterday, Kansas and Tennessee went to see S’Mya Nichols’ game. Nichols is a four-star recruit in the 2023 class. Kansas sent all four coaches to see Nichols, multiple sources tell The Ball Out.
- Texas PG Ashley Chevalier announced her decision to transfer today. And multiple sources tell us that she was not a fan of head coach Vic Schaefer AT ALL! As a matter of fact, we want you all to look at her announcement on social media. She mentions former Texas head coach Karen Aston, the previous staff but made NO MENTION of Schaefer and the current staff.
12/6/21
3 p.m. ET.
- There could be a possible opening for the Phoenix Mercury as sources tell The Ball Out that head coach Sandy Brondello might not be with the team next year.
12/6/21
1:20 a.m. ET.
- 2023 prospect S’Mya Nichols visited Kansas today on an unofficial visit.
- Many people believe that Kelly Bond at Texas A&M is going to be the next coach after Gary Blair retires. Multiple sources tell The Ball Out they do not believe Bond will be the next head coach, this is something to keep watching.
- 2023 four-star guard Olivia McGhee visited Kentucky this weekend.
12/4/21
1:15 p.m. ET.
- LeBron James recently cursed out Frank Vogel when they played the Sacramento Kings — where they lost in triple overtime. Vogel was cursed out for calling a timeout and it looks like Frank Vogel could be on super thin ice with the LA Lakers, sources tell The Ball Out.
12/3/21
9:05 p.m. ET.
- Start refreshing this page multiple times a day because we hear A LOT with the season going on.
- We spoke with a plethora of coaches this week and they can’t STAND AP Writer Doug Feinberg, and believe he along with others does have a media bias favoring UConn.
- We are starting to hear that Arkansas’ top freshman, Jersey Wolfenbarger, might be unhappy there, sources tell The Ball Out.
- There have been a plethora of upsets this week in women’s college basketball, but the one coach that took it the worse was USF’s, Jose Fernandez. He was downright miserable and had a horrible attitude after losing to UT Arlington, multiple sources tell The Ball Out.
12/2/21
12:44 a.m. ET.
- Madison Booker, the No. 6 recruit in the Class of 2023, really likes UConn and might be leaning that way, sources tell The Ball Out.
11/27/21
7:01 p.m. ET.
- We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving week; now, let’s get to some updates!
- BYU is off to a hot start this year, as they just beat two ranked teams this week in #17 Florida State and #22 West Virginia. Head coach Jeff Judkins has been seriously contemplating retirement, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. However, we are hearing that he might push off retirement for a while.
- Based on what we are hearing, one of the top recruits in the 2023 class, Delaney Thomas, favors Stanford, Notre Dame, and Maryland.
- Oregon head coach Kelly Graves has lost some respect from his peers for not playing FGCU this year. Graves stated on Twitter that the Ducks needed a game earlier in the summer, and when FGCU offered to play him, Graves declined. Being that Graves came from a mid-major in Gonzaga, he lost some respect for choosing not to play FGCU.
- UCF head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson is going to go after the Florida job, sources tell The Ball Out.
- The jury is still out on Baylor head coach Nikki Collen, sources tell The Ball Out. Many coaches don’t think she or her staff will take the Bears to the next level. However, multiple coaches in the Big 12 tell The Ball Out that they believe they can beat Baylor now with Collen as the head coach.
- TCU head coach Raegan Pebley is on a serious hot seat, and if things don’t improve, she will be fired, sources tell The Ball Out.
11/22/21
10:40 a.m. ET.
- Virginia is off to a horrid start this season as they are now 0-4. With that being said, expect Tina Thompson to be fired after the year. As we reported in the Insider earlier this year, Virginia’s administration attempted to force Thompson to step down last year, but she didn’t. Therefore, we don’t expect Thompson to survive after this season.
- Ex-Kentucky head coach Matthew Mitchell is ALL IN on going after the Florida job, sources tell The Ball Out.
11/19/21
10:47 p.m.
- Paris Clark is visiting Arizona this weekend, multiple sources tell The Ball Out
10:12 a.m. ET.
- The Big 12 wants BYU to come to their conference NEXT YEAR, sources tell The Ball Out. Originally, BYU was slated to join the conference for the 2023-2024 athletic season. However, multiple sources tell us that the Big 12 is working hand and hand with BYU in getting this done.
- Maggie Mendelson, a 5-star center out of Utah, is down to her final schools. A report came out the other day saying that her top-4 schools are Texas, Washington, Nebraska, and Minnesota. However, that report is not entirely correct. Another school that is in it for Mendelson is BYU, as a source just told The Ball Out that BYU is firmly in the mix.
11/18/21
10:06 p.m. ET.
- Update on top point guard in the 2023 class, KK Arnold. Earlier we had heard that she was a South Carolina lean; however, from a very reliable source, they tell The Ball Out that they don’t believe South Carolina will be her school of choice. We are hearing Louisville could be the choice, but we aren’t sure just yet.
11:28 a.m. ET.
- Kim Mulkey was LIVID after losing to mid-major power FGCU. She made the players flush the toilet, literally, she made them go to the bathroom and flush the toilets because of how bad that game was for them.
11/16/21
1:17 p.m. ET.
- West Virginia head coach Mike Carey has his eyes on the Texas A&M job, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. Also, sources say that they don’t believe Carey will be renewed when his contract is up in two years.
- Sources tell us that they believe that Raegan Pebley (TCU), Jeff Mittie (Kansas State), and Brandon Schneider (Kansas) are on a massive hot seat and believe they will all be fired at season’s end.
11/14/21
1:53 p.m. ET.
- As we mentioned first on the 8th from our Insider source, Sydney Bowles committed to Georgia. This was another blow to Ole Miss in recruiting. They targeted both Janiah Barker and Bowles; however, they didn’t land either.
- As you all know, Gary Blair is retiring at season’s end, something we first reported before anyone else. While he’s retiring, many inside the industry believe that Kelly Bond will be the one to replace him. However, we aren’t so sure about that. As a matter of fact, multiple sources tell us that Blair in the past would always say that Jeff Walz would be a homerun hire to replace him, not Bond.
- Top point guard in the 2023 class, KK Arnold, is set to make her announcement of where she will attend next year. Her finalists are Duke, Baylor, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, Marquette, and UConn. As of this moment, sources tell us that she will be most likely choose South Carolina. Now, ANYTHING can change in the world of recruiting, but that’s what we are hearing right now!
11/9/21
10:46 p.m. ET.
- Source tells The Ball Out that they expect Indya Nivar to choose Stanford: “Stanford is my pick, strictly my guess.”
8:22 p.m. ET.
- Here are our predictions for some of the top remaining top-100 recruits; remember, these are just predictions!

11/7/21
10:57 a.m. ET.
- This weekend Ashlynn Shade visited Louisville and Delaney Thomas visited Stanford, sources tell The Ball Out.
- It’s still early, but the thought is that it’s going to be hard to get the number 1 player in the 2023 class, Mikaylah Williams, out of the state of Louisiana. So Mulkey is putting on the FULL court press. Williams and Flau’jae Johnson visited LSU on October 16. LSU is thought to be the frontrunner for Johnson.
11/5/21
8:34 p.m. ET.
- Breaking: Kansas star center Taiyanna Jackson has been diagnosed with Mono, sources tell The Ball Out. She could be out the next month.
- Based on what we are hearing, we think it will be doubtful that 2023 superstar Delaney Thomas will end up at Maryland. Even though she goes to school in the DMV area and the Terrapins are recruiting her hard, Brenda Frese doesn’t like Thomas’ AAU coach Tiff Fudd. If Fudd sounds familiar, it’s because he is the father of UConn super freshman Azzi Fudd. See, we will give you behind the curtains, as they say, the only way The Ball Out can. See what many don’t know is that Frese had told Tim that she would give him an assistant’s job at Maryland, and in turn, Azzi would go to Maryland. However, Frese decided not to hire Tim, and thus, his daughter chose UConn. Not only that, Frese is purposely going around Tim to recruit Thomas as she won’t talk to Fudd even though he is Thomas’ AAU coach, sources tell The Ball Out. Because of that, we don’t believe Thomas will end up at Maryland.
2:27 a.m. ET.
- The Cleveland Cavaliers feel very fortunate that they were able to land Evan Mobley with the 3rd pick in the Draft. When word got to them that the Houston Rockets had given Jalen Green a promise to select him with the No. 2 pick, they thought that the source who gave them that information was “bullshitting.”
- Dawn Staley brought in Pokey Chatman to visit her team last weekend, sources tell The Ball Out.
- As you all know, Nikki McCray stepped down as head coach at Mississippi State in August. But what you all didn’t know is that McCray had been suspended at Mississippi State, sources tell The Ball Out. Sources also tell us her cancer did come back as well which is very sad to hear.
10/27/21
5:22 p.m. ET.
- Georgia has stopped recruiting Fla’jae Johnson, an Insider source tells The Ball Out.
- No. 5 ranked Ashlynn Shade has had a busy past few weeks. Last week she visited Notre Dame, the week before she visited Tennessee, and the week before she was at Stanford.

8:25 p.m. ET.
- MAJOR update! Janiah Barker will be committing to Georgia, sources tell The Ball Out! Ole Miss finished second.
10/18/21
3:14 a.m. ET.
- 4-star guard and the 93rd ranked player in the country, Amiya Jenkins, will be committing to Kentucky Monday night, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. Her final 2 choices came down to Kentucky and Dayton. She will list Tennessee as one of her final schools, but they stopped recruiting her and pulled her scholarship offer after her official visit to the school in September.
10/17/21
2:51 p.m. ET.
A LOT OF updates on this one; enjoy!
- Top-3 recruit Janiah Barker was at Georgia this weekend. And while it looked like Ole Miss was the leader going into the weekend, it looks like Georgia has made this a race and could pull this off, source tells The Ball Out.
- Also, Sydney Bowles from Atlanta was at Georgia as well. Also, last weekend, she visited Ole Miss. Now, why are we making mention of that, because guess who else visited Ole Miss last weekend, too? Janiah Barker. Source tells The Ball Out that they are a package deal and will play in college together. So, either Georgia or Ole Miss will get some amazing news while the other will be heartbroken; time will tell.

- Sydney Bowles, who is down to Georgia Tech, Georgia and Ole Miss, will be visiting Georgia this weekend as well, sources tell The Ball Out.
10/11/21
8:00 p.m. ET
- Kyla Oldacre really enjoyed her visit at Tennessee more than what she probably expected. We believe that she was leaning toward Miami and we believe Tennessee has a real shot at her. Also, she is canceling her last visit to Maryland.
- Talaysia Cooper, just completed her last visit and our sources tell us she’s torn between her decision. She should be deciding within the next week.
10/10/21
11:46 a.m. ET.
Updates on the remaining uncommitted top-100 prospects in the class of 2022
- Janiah Barker took an official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend. From all we have heard, Ole Miss has a real shot at landing the No. 3 player in the country, sources tell The Ball Out.
- UConn is still in the mix for Kiki Rice (No. 2), they are recruiting her very hard.
- Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (No. 17) visited Texas A&M this weekend.
- Talaysia Cooper (No. 18) took her last visit to UGA this weekend. Going into her visits, Georgia was the team to watch out for the most, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Kyla Oldacre (No. 25) visited Tennessee this weekend. Prior to this weekend, Miami was Oldacre’s favorite visit before the Tennessee visit, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Paulina Paris (No. 27) took an official to North Carolina this weekend.
