Kimora Lee Simons and her current husband, Tim Leissner, are being sued by her former husband, Russell Simmons. He accused her of stealing stock shares to fund her current husbands’ legal fees.
The lawsuit claims that Tim and Kimora committed fraud by transferring four million stock market shares of Celsius, the energy drink. Russell claims this was to pay for Tim Leissner’s legal fees for a money laundering case. His lawsuit also accuses Tim and Kimora of breached confidential relations, as well as their contract.
“Kimora and her children are shocked by the extortive harassment coming from her ex-husband, Russell Simmons,” a legal representative for Kimora Lee Simons stated,” who has decided to sue her for shares and dividends of Celsius stock in which Kimora and Tim Leissner invested millions of dollars This is an ill-advised attempt by Russell to use the legal system to access funds he is in no way entitled to, and which his own legal team confirms Russell did not pay for.” Russel wants Tim and Kimora to “reaffirm” half of the Celcius shares, pay punitive damages, and legal fees.
This is not the first legal case against Russell. In 2018, ver twenty different women accused him of sexual assault and misconduct. Many of these women worked in the entertainment field. His accusers include producers, models, actors, and screenwriters. Russell Simmons is a co-founder of the hip-hop label Def Jam Recordings. He has since stepped down from this position due to these allegations.
He also has produced films and is a serial entrepreneur. According to some reports, Russell moved to Bali in 2010 in an attempt to avoid American legal ramifications. One of his representatives denied the validity of this exile. Bali, Indonesia does not have an extradition treaty with the United States.
Kimora and Russell were married from 1998 to 2009 but split in 2006. They have two daughters together and were said to have been co-parenting.
