The hottest topic in women’s basketball this week: Will Baylor’s Kim Mulkey replace Nikki Fargas as the next LSU head coach? Two weeks ago, we first reported that Fargas was resigning as the Tigers head coach to be the Las Vegas Aces president.

With Fargas’ resignation official, now the attention goes back to will Mulkey be her replacement? Barring an 11th-hour change of mind, Mulkey is set to become the next head coach of LSU, multiple sources have told The Ball Out.
This is a massive get for Scott Woodward and the Tigers. Mulkey will be getting at least $2.8M annually, sources have told The Ball Out. In her 21 years with the Lady Bears, she has an overall record of 632-104 (.859) with 3 National Championships.
While the move is potentially shocking, Louisiana is home for Mulkey. She was born in Hammond and played collegiately at Louisiana Tech from 1980-84.
