Tampa, FL — Could anyone have predicted that one???
Complete domination. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the Super Bowl LV Champions. Tom Brady won his seventh title. Furthermore, he won with complete control as the Bucs won 31-9 over Kansas City.
I was completely wrong. My prediction was a 31-30 Chiefs win and definitely an over 55.5 point game. Instead, Tom Brady and his squad completely dominated the field and left Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs with no chance of a victory.
With this win, Brady’s seven rings are more than any other NFL team has won….ever. And Tampa Bay’s first win since 2002.
He completed 21-29 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those went to none other than THE Rob Gronkowski.
The Bucs defense really put the pressure on Mahomes and tallied a total of three sacks and two interceptions. There was no letting up. They entered the game as a three-point underdog and proved everyone wrong.
I feel like for half the game my jaw was on the floor as I expected not only a different outcome but also a much closer game. If you have read my articles on the NFL in the previous weeks, you would know that I was rooting for the Bucs because of WR Mike Evans (GIG’EM!! and yes, I will keep saying that). So yes, I am very happy however it was so hard not to root for Mahomes in the moment because he is so talented and so young with such a bright career ahead of him.
All in all, shocked but happy for Tampa Bay to celebrate a big win tonight. And to cap off the win, Brady and Tampa Bay made history. The Buccaneers became the first team to win the Super Bowl the same year their facility hosted the game. In addition, Tom Brady was crowned the Super Bowl LV Most Valuable Player.
I’ll miss you NFL…see you soon.
