Ex-Louisville Metropolitan police detective Brett Hankison is once again making headlines. This time, the former cop who is involved in the Breonna Taylor case, is being called a “sexual predator”. A new lawsuit has been filed against him after allegedly leaving a victim “physically injured and mentally abused.”

The victim is Margo Borders, a local attorney and University of Louisville Law School graduate. Borders has accused Hankison of sexually assaulting her. She recalled how he “willfully, intentionally, painfully and violently” assaulted her after offering to drive her home from a bar.

Borders claims this incident happened in 2018 and that Hankison worked that night as security at the bar. In a report, Borders states she was leaving the bar at closing time and Hankison had offered her a ride home.

The lawsuit filed by Borders also alleges Hankison insisted on taking her to the house and once there, invited himself into her apartment. Per a statement in the report, Borders left Hankison on the couch while she fell asleep in her room. Later in the night, Hankison then sexually assaulted Borders while she was unconscious, according to the lawsuit. The victim claimed the assault left her bloody and with “tremendous physical pain.

This was not the only accusation Hankison has against him. Borders claimed in her lawsuit that like 10 other women, they also filed complaints about the officer’s misconduct towards them.

Lastly, also in his lawsuit, Borders criticizes Officer Hankison’s colleagues and supervisors as many were aware of his assaults and abuses of power but never did anything to stop his attitudes. Borders even addressed the night of the assault on her Facebook as well as the Taylor case.
