- Lots of updates in this one. First, we know that there are a lot of players that’s going to drop a lot when the new ESPN rankings come out!
- Former Tennessee commit, 5-star Nyla Brooks, is trending towards North Carolina, and we believe her commitment to the Tar Heels is inevitable, based on The Ball Out sources.
- We believe that it’s a two team race for 5-star Ayla McDowell: TCU and Mississippi State. If we had to guess right now, we think TCU might land her.
- 5-star Madison Francis is slated to take an official visit to Mississippi State, sources tell The Ball Out. The other schools we are hearing in the mix for her are Maryland and North Carolina.
- Watch out for South Carolina when it comes to 5-star Kaelynn Carroll. They recently offered her.
- 4-star Lauren Hurst has made the decision to play both volleyball and basketball in college, sources tell The Ball Out. This is a huge development as this changes her recruitment! Also, a source told us that Kentucky is not recruiting Hurst anymore. Some sources say that Kentucky pulled her scholarship offer.
8/24/24

- 5-star Aubrey Beckham is going to commit to Georgia when she makes her announcement in a couple of day, sources tell The Ball Out.
8/11/24
3:59 a.m. ET.
- We have been covering the Olympics, but here’s another update on some of the top recruits in the country.
- Nothing has changed on what we are hearing with Aaliyah Chavez. We believe that Texas Tech is the current leader for her, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Nyla Brooks came out with a top-4 the other day, but everything we continue to hear is that North Carolina is the heavy favorite.
- Ayla McDowell had a good official visit to Mississippi State, sources tell The Ball Out. However, we are hearing that TCU one of the teams to watch out for.
- We believe that 4-star Lauren Hurst will decide to play both volleyball and basketball in college. Hurst, while good at basketball, is ELITE at volleyball, so we don’t expect her stop playing volleyball when she goes to college.
- If we had to guess right now, we believe Holland Harris will end up at Florida.
- 5-star Madison Francis will most likely be taking an official visit to Mississippi State, sources tell The Ball Out. Her recruitment has been very quiet!
- We are hearing that top-5 Divine Bourrage’s decision will likely come down to the best NIL package.

12:37 p.m. ET.
- Get ready, folks – this is going to be a massive Insider update that will shake up the women’s basketball recruiting landscape! While most pundits have been speculating that Texas and LSU are the frontrunners for the coveted No. 1 player in the country, Aaliyah Chavez, The Ball Out sources are painting a very different picture. Multiple high-level sources have informed The Ball Out that Chavez’s hometown school, Texas Tech, has emerged as the surprise leader in this high-stakes recruitment. Word on the street is that the Red Raiders have an “open checkbook” approach, willing to do whatever it takes to land the generational talent. This is definitely a situation to monitor closely in the coming weeks.
- In an interesting twist, we heard that Tennessee was actually in a strong position for Chavez at one point. However, the Lady Vols pivoted and secured commitments from the Pauldo twins, Mia and Mya, effectively taking themselves out of the Chavez sweepstakes.
- Speaking of shocking developments, The Ball Out sources have revealed some behind-the-scenes drama regarding Aaliyah Crump, ESPN’s No. 4 ranked player. Crump was initially leaning towards Duke, but in a stunning turn of events, she caught Blue Devils head coach Kara Lawson in what she perceived as a lie during the recruiting process. This breach of trust led Crump to abruptly change course and commit to Texas instead. It just goes to show how fragile these recruiting relationships can be.
- The North Carolina Tar Heels are making serious waves in the 2025 class. We’ve been hearing persistent chatter that Agot Makeer, the No. 6 overall prospect, is likely to end up in Chapel Hill. But that’s not all – The Ball Out sources indicate that UNC is also in a strong position with Nyla Brooks, ranked 14th by ESPN. If both of these elite talents choose the Tar Heels, it could vault their 2025 class into the top echelon nationally.
- Now, let’s circle back to Tennessee. Multiple industry connections have informed The Ball Out that the Lady Vols’ coaching staff has been working overtime in attempts to flip commitments from other schools. This aggressive approach has raised eyebrows and suggests that Tennessee may not be as confident in their standing with uncommitted 2025 prospects as they’d like us to believe. If they were truly in a strong position with top available recruits, they wouldn’t be expending so much energy trying to poach committed players from rival programs. This tactic has reportedly caused some tension within coaching circles and could potentially backfire if not handled delicately. Remember, you heard it here first at The Ball Out. Stay tuned for more exclusive insider information as these recruiting sagas continue to unfold! We will be doing more updates, at least every 48-72 hours from here on out!
6/16/24
6:52 p.m. ET.
- We are hearing that Agot Makeer, a top 25 recruit from Canada, is strongly leaning towards committing to UNC. Makeer has had a standout season at Crestwood Prep and has been on official visits to North Carolina, Michigan State, and Iowa State.
BYU Turmoil
Trouble is brewing at BYU with reports indicating that the team dynamics are deteriorating, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. The head coach, who is also a mother of one of the players, is reportedly not well-liked or respected. This has led to significant fallout, including the best player, Delaney Gibb—a top 50 freshman recruit—deciding to go on a mission and then transfer out of BYU. Additionally, her younger sister, a top 100 recruit, is decommitting from the program.
Tianna Chambers
Top 100 recruit Tianna Chambers from Colorado visited Mississippi State this past weekend. Sources tell The Ball Out that it’s between Mississippi and Alabama for Chambers.
Divine Bourrage
Sources tell the The Ball Out that Top-10 recruit Divine Bourrage is looking at Arizona, LSU, Virginia Tech, and potentially one more school. Stay tuned for more updates as these stories develop further.

6/1/24
3:57 p.m. ET.
This is going to be one of our biggest updates we have ever had, so buckle up!
With recruiting in full swing as today is the day that coaches can call 2026s, we are going to start off with 2025 news and go from there!
- 5-star Zakiyah Johnson, who is ranked No. 7 in the nation is going to be dropping her top-6 very soon, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. They are South Carolina, USC, Notre Dame, Louisville, Kentucky and we forgot the sixth school. One school that did not make her final 6 is Tennessee. This is extremely bad by Tennessee as before the coaching change, Johnson was leaning strongly towards the Lady Vols, and it was well known in the basketball circles that Tennessee was the heavy frontrunner. So how did Tennessee mess this up? New head coach Kim Caldwell arrogantly came to Knoxville and told anyone who would listen that she didn’t like Johnson, so Tennessee did not reach to Johnson for almost two months. Ironically, Tennessee reached out to Johnson after she made the U-18 team for Team USA only to be rejected. Caldwell being desperate basically begged Johnson to reconsider and that Tennessee was willing to match any NIL offer that she had on the table from other schools, however, Johnson still said no! To go from frontrunner to being eliminated is a bad look, and will be embarrassing once this becomes public knowledge. Caldwell doesn’t even like former commit Nyla Brooks, but for PR purposes is recruiting her only to save face publicly.
- 5-star Emilee Skinner is telling people behind-the-scenes that she’s going to North Carolina, sources tell The Ball Out.
- The top-two schools battling out for the nation’s number one player, Aaliyah Chavez, are LSU and Texas. LSU basically got Isabella Hines to help land Chavez as Hines and Chavez are good friends. We have heard that LSU is giving Hines $100,000 and offering $1.3M to Chavez, which equates to around $350,000 a year. Texas is offering her the same, sources tell us.
- Going back to Tennessee, they are struggling mightily in recruiting regardless of the phony PR they portray publicly. We have talk to a plethora of people, and we haven’t had ONE person say ANYTHING good about their assistant Gabe Lazo – not ONE! We have heard that he’s a liar, someone to not be trusted and a backstabber. We know that Tennessee has been rejected a lot behind-the-scenes as Caldwell has come off arrogant. To show how desperate they are now, they are now starting to recruit 5-star Lauren Hurst, someone they didn’t recruit for almost two months, and only offered her a week ago because they are trying to save face in the 2025 class. Based on what we have gathered, they don’t like Hurst, but she’s a local kid, so they believe it’s good PR. They also just dropped Holland Harris, because they didn’t like something that Harris had posted recently on social media, sources tell The Ball Out.
- Now onto some transfer portal news. UCLA was willing to spend big and that’s how they landed Janiah Barker. Multiple sources tell us that Barker was looking for a big payday. Also, Juju Watkins, Timea Gardiner and Kiki Iriafen all concocted their plan to play together well in advance of their respective teams losing in the NCAA tournament. There’s a reason why we said that Gardiner and Iriafen were going to USC well before they committed there.
- Earlier this week, we exclusively reported that 2027 5-star phenom Finley Chastain was slated to visit Mississippi State. And after watching clips of Chastain during the spring evaluation period, she is our No. 1 player in the 2027 class, and we don’t think it’s close to be honest with you. She is every big of 6-foot which is ELITE size for a point guard, her IQ is off the charts and she’s an ELITE shooter, especially from three. At Montverde, she was playing out of position as a spot up shooting guard, and still helped Montverde win a high school national championship. We are huge fans of Chastain. And while some rankings might have someone ranked higher than her. trust us, she’s the best player in that class, and it’s not close.

Also, we are hearing that they are targeting Kentucky’s Amiya Jenkins and Miami’s Lashae Dwyer.

So we started to reach out to our The Ball Out sources to figure out who this person could be. One name that was mentioned was Stanford’s Kiki Iriafen, another source mentioned the possibility of Texas’ Madison Booker; however, after talking to even better sources, the name that resonates the most with us is Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo, yes, you read that right, HANNAH HILDAGO! The NIL situation for the Fighting Irish is very bad, sources tell The Ball Out. So don’t be surprised if it’s Hidalgo!

Her and head coach Mike Neighbors had a big falling out in which Neighbors complained to Scott that she shoots too much and that she’s not as good as Kelsey Plum. Now you all know the REAL reason she is away from the program. Scott will be transferring, so look for her name to hit the portal very soon, multiple sources tell The Ball Out.

- The nation’s no. 3 player in the class of 2024, Jaloni Cambridge, announced yesterday on social media that she would be committing on Friday. In our previous update, we mentioned LSU, but based on new information, we believe that LSU is now second and will not land Cambridge. Stay tuned. We aren’t quite ready to make a prediction just yet as things are always fluid in recruiting; however, Ohio State’s football team does play on Friday, and Ohio State will be dominating the news cycle that day.
12/24/23

- Based on what he have heard for months, Jaloni Cambridge’s recruiting is going to come down to money. Whoever offers her the most will likely land her. Sources tell us that LSU is all-in on Cambridge.
- Sarah Strong is the nation’s best player, and is still uncommitted. As everyone can see, she didn’t sign in the early signing period. And while UConn is recruiting her hard, our sources say that North Carolina is still the x-factor.
- Now onto the 2025 class, No. 8 Leah Macy loves Notre Dame, but she is also about to take a visit to UConn, sources tell The Ball Out.
- No. 6 Aaliyah Crump just recently signed with Klutch, and just knowing Klutch’s background, look for these schools to be in the mix with Crump: South Carolina, UCLA, Texas and USC. Sources tell The Ball Out that Texas is the likely frontrunner for Crump.
- The best power forward in the 2025 is Australian superstar Lara Somfai. The 6’3″ phenom is BY far the best post in the 2025 class! She is so skilled! In the world of high school basketball, few names have reverberated as loudly as that of Sienna Betts. A true standout at Grandview High School in Aurora, Colorado, she has left a trail of impressive performances and accolades in her wake. The young prodigy was even named the Gatorade Colorado Girls Basketball Player of the Year, a prestigious recognition that further cements her position as one of the most sought-after players in her class. However, what seems to be on everyone’s mind is not just her stellar gameplay, but her impending school choice. As of now, it remains a mystery. What we have been told from multiple The Ball Out sources is that Betts doesn’t seem keen on following in her sister Lauren’s footsteps by playing alongside her. Multiple sources over the past couple of months have been mentioning Arizona, with The Ball Out Insiders suggesting that the Wildcats may be leading the pack in this recruitment race. However, the world of recruitment is ever-changing, and nothing is set in stone until Betts makes her decision public. In other words, we aren’t sure it’s Arizona, and we don’t know! We are certain that she has ruled out certain schools, including North Carolina. Yet, the question remains: where will Sienna Betts take her formidable talent? If Arizona turns out to be her chosen destination, it wouldn’t come as a shock, given the recent buzz to our sources. But, as it stands, we can’t say for sure. As this thrilling saga unfolds, we promise to keep you updated with any new developments. So, for all the women’s basketball enthusiasts out there, keep your eyes on this page and stay tuned for more The Ball Out Insider updates!

Sources that we spoke with yesterday told The Ball Out that Smith hasn’t made a decision yet, and is torn between Southern Cal and South Carolina. 11/9/23
12:00 a.m. ET.
- In a stunning turn of events, the tides appear to be shifting in the high-stakes recruiting race for five-star prospect Joyce Edwards. After extensive conversations with multiple The Ball Out sources, it seems that LSU has surged ahead, potentially outpacing South Carolina in the competition for Edwards’ commitment. It’s shocking to consider, but based on the information we’ve gathered, LSU seems to have gained considerable momentum, possibly usurping South Carolina’s position as the frontrunner. While recruiting dynamics are often fluid and subject to rapid change, this development marks a noteworthy shift in Edwards’ recruitment saga. However, it’s crucial to remember that the final decision remains in Edwards’ hands, and the situation could still change. Stay tuned as we continue to monitor this surprising twist in the recruitment of one of the nation’s top prospects.
11/6/23
6:55 p.m. ET.
- The recruitment scene for women’s basketball continues to be a whirlwind of speculation and anticipation. Here’s the latest scoop from our Insiders’ perspective: Camden SC five-star prospect Joyce Edwards continues to hold interest from a number of top-tier colleges. The latest from The Ball Out Sources indicates that it’s primarily a three-horse race between South Carolina, LSU, and possibly Stanford. LSU is reportedly putting forth a significant financial offer in an attempt to secure Edwards.
- Jaloni Cambridge, another highly sought-after player, won’t be making her decision anytime soon. Multiple The Ball Out sources suggest that she intends to wait until the late signing period to sign. It’s also speculated that a hefty Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal would be necessary to win her commitment.
- In a surprise, Mikayla Blakes, on the other hand, might make her commitment later than anticipated, based on what sources have shared with The Ball Out.
- Five-star prospect Arianna Roberson is nearing her decision, but contrary to popular belief, we’re not convinced that UConn has this in the bag. Our sources recommend keeping an eye on Duke when signing day rolls around.
- Also, there’s been some difficulty getting information on Kayleigh Heckel’s recruitment, but our current speculation — not sourced, but based on our interpretation of the situation at present — suggests she might be favoring USC (Southern Cal).
- Sarah Strong is down to UConn and North Carolina, sources tell us.
11/3/23
12:36 p.m. ET.
- Hold your breath, Insiders! We’ve got a big update on the basketball sensation Joyce Edwards. Multiple sources tell The Ball Out that Edwards, the No. 2 high school senior in the country and a 5-star forward from South Carolina, is still on the fence about her college choice, and is truly undecided. As the recruitment saga continues, LSU is pulling out all the stops to land Edwards, sources tell us. The figures being bandied about are nothing short of mind-boggling. The latest whispers from sources are telling us that LSU is offering Edwards a staggering sum of around $500,000 to don the Tigers’ jersey. This is in line with what we’ve heard via sources that they allegedly gave Mikaylah Williams last year to secure her early commitment. It’s apparent that LSU, under the stewardship of Kim Mulkey, isn’t shy about splashing the cash. We know that they spent a hefty six-figure sum to secure Aalyah Del Rosario. They even gave Angelica Velez, Del Rosario’s high school teammate, a five-figure sum to ensure Del Rosario’s commitment. Mulkey is reputedly hell-bent on landing Edwards and taking down South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley. Stay tuned for more updates!
10/30/23
5:38 p.m. ET.
- Since Angel Reese stirred “the pot,” we decided to give an update. Right now, LSU is not in the lead for Sarah Strong or Joyce Edwards. We believe at this time, they are on the outside looking in, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. We continue to hear that North Carolina is not fully out when it comes to Strong. Strong has done an extraordinary job in keeping her recruitment quiet.
- Now, if you are an LSU fan, we are hearing through multiple sources that LSU has made up ground when it comes to Jaloni Cambridge. We will say that Louisville pulled out the red carpet for Cambridge and her family, including a private jet. Sources tell us that Jeff Walz is all in on Cambridge.
- Also, don’t look for Shaq’s daughter Me’Arah O’Neal to end up at LSU, sources tell The Ball Out. Right now, some sources believe it’s Florida, and some believe it’s Baylor; we will keep you posted.
10/28/23
11:18 p.m. ET.

- We predict that UCLA will land 5-star Zania Socka-Nguemen on Friday. More updates on other players coming soon!
10/22/23
11 p.m. ET.
- This a pretty big update; first, we are going to talk about Kennedy Smith, ranked No. 6 by ESPN. She has taken all of her five official visits, but sources tell us that one of them, Duke, is not under consideration for her and that they are out. That leaves four: Louisville, South Carolina, USC, and UCLA. Our The Ball Out Sources spoke with someone very close to the situation, and we are hearing that she will likely end up at USC or UCLA. Right now, at this moment, we believe that USC is in the lead, but we want to emphasize that a decision has not been made.
- Next up is Jaloni Cambridge, who is ranked No. 3 by ESPN and is easily the best point guard in the 2024 class. We got a text from a highly credible source that tells The Ball Out that Cambridge will wait until the late signing period to sign; wow! Also, Cambridge is visiting Baylor, as first reported by Ashley Hodge of SicEm365 two days ago. We reported in the Insider about a month ago that Baylor sent all of their coaches to see Cambridge work out at Montverde, so we aren’t surprised. However, we believe that LSU is making a serious push, and not Ohio State is not the absolute favorite anymore. We have more details on her recruiting, but only for Super VIP members. In the unpredictable world of women’s basketball recruitment, the saga of Jaloni Cambridge’s decision-making process is a whirlwind of intrigue. It was just last week that we reported Baylor’s determined pursuit, with three visits in rapid succession. However, today’s development has added an unexpected twist to this tale. Ohio State head coach Kevin McGuff made his presence felt at Montverde Academy, but he was not alone. By a curious coincidence, the entourage included Cambridge’s parents and her AAU coach from FBC, Alfred Molton. Now, you might be wondering why an AAU coach would show up for a senior player who has exhausted her AAU eligibility. Well, our sources hint towards a potentially lucrative deal being negotiated behind the scenes. According to The Ball Out sources, Ohio State previously gave a generous $100,000 to Jaloni’s older sister, Kennedy, to secure her commitment to their program. Coincidentally, or perhaps not, Jaloni’s best friend, Ava Watson, also committed to the Buckeyes. But here’s where the plot thickens: Alfred Molton and Desmond Cambridge, Jaloni’s father, share a robust friendship. Could this personal connection have influenced the alleged financial discussions? While we can only speculate at this point, it certainly seems possible that a significant monetary incentive could be on the table to sway Jaloni towards Ohio State. We’re keeping a close eye on this unfolding narrative, and we’ll continue to bring you the latest as we navigate the labyrinth of Jaloni Cambridge’s recruitment journey. Stay tuned.

In the high-stakes game of women’s basketball recruiting, Baylor University has emerged as a surprising yet formidable contender for Jaloni Cambridge, one of the top-ranked high school girls’ basketball players. Baylor’s interest in Cambridge is not just a rumor. According to multiple sources, Baylor head coach Nikki Collen has visited Montverde Academy three times in the past week to observe Cambridge in action. In one instance, they even brought along three coaches. This level of commitment is rare, especially this late in the recruiting process, indicating Baylor is definitely in the mix. But the plot thickens. Ohio State University has also shown keen interest in Cambridge. They’ve recruited Kennedy, Cambridge’s sister, with a generous $100,000 scholarship. While Kennedy is a talented player in her own right, The Ball Out insiders believe Ohio State’s move is a strategic play to win over Jaloni. The competition is fierce, and the stakes are high. Women’s basketball recruiting has never been more exciting or unpredictable. Baylor’s aggressive approach and Ohio State’s clever strategy have set the stage for a thrilling showdown. As fans and followers of women’s college basketball, we can only wait and watch as this drama unfolds. Will Baylor’s intense courtship convince Cambridge? Or will Ohio State’s strategic maneuvering sway her decision? The answer lies in the future, and we’ll be here to bring you every twist and turn in this riveting race.

- Clara Silva has pledged her allegiance to Virginia Tech. This news, which we initially reported in the Insider, has sent ripples across the college basketball community. Silva’s commitment to Virginia Tech was not without its share of controversy. Rumors are swirling that she was enticed with a $50,000 NIL deal, a promise that teeters on the brink of impossibility given her international status. Adding fuel to the fire, The Ball Out Insider sources suggest that Hokies coach Kenny Brooks and his staff lured Silva with the promise of family housing. Silva’s recruitment journey was far from straightforward. Initially, many speculated that she was leaning towards Tennessee. However, as the weeks rolled on without a commitment, doubts began to creep in here at The Ball Out that this was the case. A mysterious international advisor was involved, adding another layer of intrigue. Silva’s mother, Sophia, also came under scrutiny for her seemingly ambitious agenda for her daughter’s career, and having her hands out subtly.
