Tennessee center Tamari Key is out for the season due to blood clots, per the university. Key missed Tuesday’s game against UT-Chatanooga after participating in shootaround earlier in the day.
“My sole concern right now is that Tamari continues to get the medical care and guidance she needs and begins the gradual process of healing and returning to full strength,” head coach Kellie Harper said. “This is much bigger than basketball. We are so grateful that this medical condition was caught. Our entire program will be right beside Tamari during this process and welcomes prayers and positive thoughts from Lady Vol Nation and beyond.”
Earlier this year, Key went viral on social media for calling out the nasty and vitriolic comments about her eye lashes and fingernails. The talented young woman has been the victim of internet trolls and social media bullying of the highest order. From Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, Key has been constantly attacked:

Key, a senior, was averaging 8.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
