This weekend, during a house party in North Las Vegas, Aaliyah Gayles was shot multiples times. Gayles is a standout basketball at Spring Valley High school and a McDonald’s All-American this past season.

Gayles, who is a senior, has committed to play at Southern California next season. She also is the No. 8 overall player for the class of 2022. Unfortunately, she underwent two emergency surgeries on Sunday, according to one report.

Per North Las Vegas police, in total, four individuals (two minors) all suffered gunshot wounds after a fight broke out at the party. At around 11:15 p.m., gunfire erupted. Gayles and the other three victims were hospitalized with survivable wounds. However, authorities did state one woman was listed under “serious” condition after she was shot multiple times in her lower body.

As the investigation continues, the shooter has not yet been arrested.

More details are to come as the story details.
