Davie, Florida — Police are searching this for two suspects who shot rapper Diamond Blue Smith, a member of the Pretty Ricky group. Smith was shot during an alleged robbery in which the rapper was seriously injured, authorities reported.
The rapper, known as Baby Blue, was injured after he was shot during an attempted theft of a gold chain outside a bowling alley in Davie, in southeastern Florida.
Police said the rapper and another victim were at the side of their cars when they were approached by two armed men.
The suspects, whose identity and whereabouts are still unknown, attempted to steal a gold chain in the form of a necklace and there was a fight that resulted in gunshots that allegedly hit the rapper in the shoulder. Baby Blue had stepped in to help his cousin from being shot.
Smith was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police added.

Thursday morning, Baby Blue did update fans on his condition, stating a bullet had traveled through his lungs.
