One of Donald Trump’s appointees was arrested by the FBI on Thursday, March 4th. Frederico Klein is a 42-year-old former State Department aide. Until just recently, he served as a US government employee. Klein is the most direct affiliation with Trump that participated in the White House coup on January 6th at the Captiol. Klein served as part of Trump’s administration at the time he attended the White House coup.

Surveillance footage has resurfaced of Frederico physically and verbally assaulting law enforcement while storming the Capital. Klein physically attacked the officer using their personal riot shields that he took from the police. He used the riot shield to hold the door open at the Capitol building to let other rioters enter. Klein continued to work for the United States government for two weeks following.

However, he did not resign until the night of President Joe Biden’s inauguration. Klein was a “tech analyst” for the Trump campaign and then became a “Schedule C” appointee. He was involved with the 2016 Trump election campaign and became a member of the State Department in January 2017 after the former president took office. Klein was making $66,510 yearly.

In other political news, Impeachment manager Representative Eric Swalwell filed a lawsuit against Trump for provoking the storm on the Capital. Swalwell is a House prosecutor who fought in court during Trump’s second impeachment trials. He is also a Congressman who represents the 16th Congressional District in California.

According to this lawsuit, the former president, his son Donald Trump Jr., and Rudy Guiliani are entirely responsible for the January 6th White House mob. Swalwell’s lawsuit was sixty-five pages which accused the three of creating conspiracies regarding Biden’s rightful election win and creating false propaganda about election fraud.

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell even voted to acquit Trump and believes he needs to face disciplinary actions for inciting a riot. The Capitol riot led to five deaths and stained the reputation of American security.
