Calgary, AB– I just finished up Day 1 of Country Thunder, one of Calgary’s BEST Country Music Festivals. Let me tell you, there was NO shortage of excitement.

The performances today were put together by an all female line up! It may have been a cold, rainy day/night here in Calgary, but these ladies all kept it HOT during day 1 of this event.

Things would kickoff with an outstanding performance from Meghan Patrick with things only getting better from there. Patrick would then be followed by Lindsay Ell, and just when you thought it was over, Tanya Tucker would light up the stage!

One thing I wanted to really share with everyone was that Tanya Tucker is 60! Her stage presence was amazing AND she had pink hair. She was such a cutie, witty and such a pleasure to watch on stage.

Now I’ll say this. No one performance overshadowed the other. These ladies knew how to put on an AMAZING show! However, the closing performance, done by Miranda Lambert, was an absolute classic.

Lambert had the whole sha-bang! Her band was lively, she was sparkling, the back screens, lights, everything was amazing and tied perfect with her brand and music. I had never seen any of these ladies before, but I am hoping I can see them all again soon.

Besides amazing music, Country Thunder also has a lot of fun little things going on. Not only are there hundreds of cowboy boots, there’s beer, food trucks with everything you could imagine, artist & festival merchandise. Also, there’s other things like beef jerky stands, jewelry stands, everything under the sun.

Country Thunder has the it factor and if you aren’t here, you’re missing out. I can’t wait to do some more exploring tomorrow and show you all what is in store for Day 2 and 3!

I can’t believe we still have 2 more days of fun! Stay tuned as I get a full taste, dance and drink of Country Thunder.
