As the Lakers continue to find chemistry, once again the gold and purple will be without one of its key players. After injuring his knee yesterday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles announced today, Anthony Davis is expected to miss the next four weeks with an MCL strain.

In last night’s loss to Minnesota, Jaden McDaniels lost his balance after LeBron Davis pushed him — which James was called for the offensive foul. McDaniels then tumbled into Davis’ left knee which caused the injury.

Davis did walk off the court on his own power limping, but once he was in the tunnel, he collapsed to the ground and grabbed his knee in pain.

Davis has dealt with a handful of injuries in his career and was off to a better start this season. This won’t be the first time the Lakers are without one of their big three as James missed weeks earlier this season with his own injury.

Thus far on the season, Davis has been averaging 23.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game.
