Harvey Weinstein, a former film producer pleaded not guilty today for 11 sexual assault charges. Those charges include four counts of rape and seven other sexual assault counts — Weinstein has denied all allegations.

“He absolutely, unequivocally and categorically denies the allegations in this indictment,” said his lawyer, Mark Werksman. “They’re unprovable, unproven, uncredible, and unsubstantiated, and that will become clear as we litigate this case.”

Allegations against the former film producer first became public knowledge in October of 2020. Weinstein was extradited to Los Angeles from New York on Tuesday, where he was already serving a 23-year prison term.

In totality, he could face a sentence up to 140 years for his multiple charges. Specifically, the charges are four counts of rape, four counts of forcible oral copulation, two counts of sexual battery by restraint, and one count of sexual penetration by use of force.

At this moment, the names of the women involved have not been named. Weinstein now awaits a second trial and will appear in court again on July 29.
