Trades in the NBA are officially here as the league prepares for the upcoming season to start next month. Today, inside Adrian Woj announced All-Star Chris Paul is being traded to the Phoenix Suns. Paul last year was a key reason behind the Oklahoma City Thunder’s success.

In exchange for Paul, the Thunder will acquire, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque, and a 2022 first-round pick. Furthermore, Abdel Nader will join Paul in Phoenix via the trade.

The acquisition of Paul is huge, as the Suns will pair him with their franchise player in Devin Booker. In addition, Monty Williams is the coach for Phoenix and he coached Paul back in 2010-2011 while in New Orleans where the two had great chemistry.

Last season, Paul quieted doubters who felt he was washed up. He averaged 17.6 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, and dished out 6.7 assists per game while leading a young OKC to the playoffs.
