Atlanta, GA — Two weeks ago, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, Jr. charged former officers Garrett Rolfe and Devin Brosnan for the suspected murder of  Rayshard Brooks. More specifically, Rolfe is facing 11 charges — including felony murder. The same day Howard Jr. announced the charges, he also issued an arrest for Rolfe and Brosnan who turned themselves in the next day.

Now, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jane Barwick has issued one of the largest bonds in recent Fulton County history for Rolfe: a $500,000 bond. In order to be released, Rolfe must pay 10% of the bond.

As released by the DA’s office, Rolfe’s bond conditions include the following:

  • Wear and ankle monitor
  • 6 pm-6 am curfew
  • Turnover passport
  • No contact with witnesses or Atlanta Police
  • No weapons

The District Attorney’s office also stated the same in regards to Rolfe’s cell phone:

“Despite evidence presented at the hearing by the State that showed that former Officer Rolfe engaged in several text message conversations with Atlanta Police Officers shortly after the incident, the Court did not require Rolfe to turn over the password to his cell phone. However, the Court did remind Rolfe and his counsel that they are not allowed to disturb or destroy evidence contained in the cellphone.”
