It has been a big week for the Tennessee Lady Vols women’s basketball program! They have just secured the commitment of 5-foot-9 guard Kaniya Boyd, who is ranked as the No. 29 recruit in the 2024 class. This adds even more depth and talent to what is already one of the nation’s top college teams.
Kaniya Boyd has been gaining attention for her junior season at Centennial High School, which is one of the top high school basketball programs in the country. After visiting Kentucky right before visiting Tennessee this past weekend, she decided that this was the perfect fit and canceled all other visits – including Texas A&M, Florida State, and Kentucky.
Highlights of Kaniya Boyd’s Junior Season
Boyd had an impressive junior year with Centennial High School. She had a stellar season with averages of 12.2 points, 4.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game while helping Centennial win its eight straight 6A state title.
The commitment of Kaniya Boyd, especially this early, is yet another testament to Tennessee’s prowess on the recruiting trail for the 2024 class.
