Destinee Wells’ name has been buzzing in the women’s basketball world ever since she entered the transfer portal. Multiple sources tell The Ball Out that the ex-Belmont standout is visiting Tennessee today. Wells was recently ranked 10th in ESPN’s list of best transfers, a testament to her amazing abilities as a point guard.
The amount of improvement Wells displayed during her time at Belmont was remarkable; she increased her 3-point shooting from 30.5% as a sophomore to a career-high of 45.5% this season. On top of that, she averaged 19.5 points per game, too. Her ability to do it all on the court makes her the most highly sought-after point guard in the portal; many schools are doing their very best to get Wells.
Her wealth of experience and talent could be a major boost for the talented nucleus that made it to the Sweet Sixteen.
Destinee Wells and big moments
Throughout her time at Belmont, Wells has been a standout force to be reckoned with on the court. As a true leader of Belmont’s women’s basketball program, she has earned the nickname “Big Shot” due to her fiery knack for making big plays in the toughest situations. From her freshman year up to her last season – no matter what situation or environment – Wells always brought an unparalleled level of tenacity. Her unmatched ability to rise to ‘the biggest moments’ is evident in the collection of highlight clips that show just how talented she is and why she, in our opinion, is a game-changer at the point guard position.
