In a press briefing, Gov. Greg Abbott announced the 18-year-old suspect was killed during the shooting. The male suspect was a student at Uvalde High School.
“He shot and killed horrifically and incomprehensibly 14 students and killed a teacher,” Abbott shared.
ABC News also reported the suspect first shot his grandmother before entering and firing inside Robb Elementary.

Another active shooting has claimed the life of innocent lives. Local law enforcement responded to an active shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. At the time of this report, at least two children have died from gunshot wounds and there are multiple injuries.
Per reports, a local hospital treated 13 students in the wake of the shooting. Furthermore, two of those patients have been transferred to San Antonio for treatment and one patient is being waited to be transferred.
There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary. Law enforcement is on site. Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared.

The school was placed on lockdown. After lockdown, students were reunited with their guardians after being transported to the Sgt. Willie Deleon Civic Center.
