After a magical Sweet 16 run, could South Dakota be looking for a new head coach? Possibly. Head coach Dawn Plitzuweit interviewed for the head coaching vacancy at West Virginia, multiple sources tell The Ball Out. She was on campus this week.
Plitzuweit has had tremendous success during her tenure in Vermillion, amassing an overall record of 158–35 and leading the Coyotes to a historic run in this year’s NCAA Tournament. South Dakota came very close to advancing to the Elite Eight this year. She was also in the running for the Oklahoma State vacancy, sources tell The Ball Out.
Before interviewing Plitzuweit, the Mountaineers interviewed Boston College head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee on campus Monday.
