Something very interesting is going on within the Nebraska women’s basketball team. This weekend the program not only suspended assistant Chuck Love but also a starter is no longer with the team. Ashley Scoggin is the team’s top three-point shooter this season but as of Saturday, she isn’t on the roster.

Despite the announcement of both individuals being no longer with the team at the moment, the news does come after Nebraska was on the road against Penn State. Love, who is the associate head coach, was not on the bench for the game and Scoggin didn’t play a single minute. Instead, she was listed as out for health and safety reasons.

The university announced Love has been suspended without pay for “a personnel matter”, while Scoggin is no longer found on the roster via the team’s online roster. Before being removed from the team, Scoggin was averaging 8.4 points and 1.6 rebounds this season while shooting 42% from long range.

More details are to come as the story develops.
