Known for his role as ‘Deebo’ in the hit movies, ‘Friday’ and ‘Next Friday’, actor Tommy Lister has passed away. The 62-year old actor passed away today after suffering from Covid-19 related symptoms. Lister was diagnosed twice with the virus.
Lister was found unresponsive in Marina del Rey, California in his apartment. Furthermore, his manager Cindy Cowan stated he had to cancel filming plans for a movie he was working on after displaying signs related to covid-19.
“He was a wonderful guy with a heart of gold. Everyone loved him. A real gentle giant,” she said. We’re all devastated,” shared Cowan on his passing.
While many know him as ‘Deebo,’ Lister was also a wrestler. One of his notable opponents was Hulk Hogan. He wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation (WWE) and World Championship Wrestling.
According to DailyMailTV, Lister recently had an interview where he stated once the vaccine to fight COVID was made public, he would take it. Among testing positive on two separate occasions, Lister also was a diabetic, placing him in the population who would first receive the vaccine.
The late actor is survived by his wife Felicia Forbes and their daughter.
