The New England Patriots will be without Cam Newton this Sunday as the quarterback has tested positive for COVID19.

While the team didn’t state the specific player who tested positive, ESPN football insider Adam Schefter did report it is Newton who has the virus.

The Patriots were expected to depart for Kansas City today for Sunday’s game, however, per Schefter, the game has been postponed. New England and Kansas City will now play on either Monday or Tuesday.

If Sunday’s game does remain on schedule, New England does have depth at the quarterback position with Brian Hoyer, Jarrett Stidham, and Jake Dolegala who has been on the practice squad.
