White substance found in White House lobby

During a routine sweep of the White House lobby, security came across a small, clear bag with a white substance in it which was found in a heavy trafficked area on Sunday (the West Wing lobby.

When the substance was first discovered, the fire department was called in to confirm if it was hazardous or not. The test came back positive for cocaine and was confirmed via a second test that the small bag did indeed contain cocaine.

“The item was sent for further evaluation and an investigation into the cause and manner of how it entered the White House is pending,” stated the Secret Service.

The Secret Service is reviewing visitor logs as the location the bag was found is where official visitors and staffers enter the White House.

Suspect arrested in Philadelphia

Five counts of murder have been charged to 40-year-old Kimbrady Carriker for the deadly shooting in Philadelphia on Monday; he is being held without bail for the murders.

Carriker appeared in court earlier today for his first hearing where he is facing 11 total offenses and several counts of each. Including murder, he is also being charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault and carrying firearm without valid permit.

In a neighborhood in the southwest of Philadelphia around 8:30 p.m. EST, calls came to 911 stating shots were fired. Police reports stated 50 shots went off and multiple vehiles were hit at the scene. Once police arrived on scene, they were in the process of transporting victims when more shots were fire before eventually encountering Carriker after following the sounds of the shots.

Law enforcement were able to corner Carriker in the alley where he was seen in a bulletproof vest, multiple magazines, a police scanner, an AR-style rifle and a handgun.

At the time of this article, there has been no known connection between the victims and suspect. Furthermore, there is no motive that has been shared either.

“A person walking down the street with an AR-style rifle and shooting randomly at people while wearing a bulletproof vest with multiple magazines is disgraceful, but an all too common situation in America,” expressed Mayor Jim Kenney.

According to reports, the shooting took place in the neighborhood where Carriker lived – in fact, he was a well-known, helpful neighbor.

“He speaks to everybody. He helps out with everybody,” one neighbor shared. “If you parked on the curb and the cop comes, he’ll knock on your door and tell you like they’re about to give you a ticket or whatever.”

Carriker took the lives of Daujan Brown (15 years old), Lashyd Merritt (22 years old), Dymir Stanton (29 years old), Joseph Wamah, Jr. (31 years old) and Ralph Moralis (59 year old). The suspect will appear in court again on July 24th.
